The Aquamarine, called Atlantis in EBF4, is a Water-elemental bow available for Anna in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and 5.
Description[]
The Aquamarine is a highly ornate bow made of crystalline sky-blue material. Most of its body is formed of circles and arches, with the two circles flanking its C-shaped grip containing a pair of round blue gemstones (possibly sapphires).
In EBF4, the Atlantis has relatively small gems held in place by two small projections in their circles. Its arrows are made of the same material as the bow, with barbed heads and horseshoe-shaped tails.
In EBF5, the bow was renamed "Aquamarine" and gained much larger gemstones that seem to be set directly in the circles on its limbs. Its arrows have slightly rounded heads and smaller blue gems set in their tails.
The Aquamarine empowers Anna's Water skills while making her resistant to it and Fire. It's not the most powerful offensive bow (usually favoring Magic Attack over Attack, which clashes with Anna's physically-inclined skill set), but its weapon-elemental skills can apply status effects that can be used in damage stacking combos. It also tends to have a Water-based bonus skill that can apply Wet to enemies in addition to dealing damage.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
The Atlantis is slightly magic-oriented, with strong Magic Attack and below-average Attack; it also gives slight boosts to Magic Defence and Defence. It can Wet foes with its Weapon-elemental skills while powering up Anna's Water attacks, including its innate Aqua Arrow unleash. These traits allow the Atlantis to support a Thunder or Ice-based offense, but its own damage output can be lacking at the time of its acquisition (where Water-resistant foes are common).
The Atlantis is resistant to Fire and Water, but it won't be immune to either of them at Level 5. It also makes Anna more vulnerable to Freeze, which remains constant at all of its levels.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]
Normal[]
The Aquamarine gives a good boost to Magic Attack and Attack, as well as slightly boosting Magic Defence. It powers up Water skills, which benefits the Aqua Arrow it uses as a counter-attack. Its Weapon-elemental skills have a good chance to Chill foes while having a small chance of unleashing Enchantment, temporarily rendering the target immune to magic and weak to physical attacks.
The Aquamarine is one of the rare weapons that can boost its own damage output by applying Chill and then following up with its boosted Water attacks. As a bonus, Anna's main Water skill inflicts Wet, which combines with Chill to cause Freeze; throw in Arrow Rain and Combo Shot for better status spreading, and the Aquamarine can be used to reliably Freeze foes while also working on other tasks. With some luck, it can also set up a combo by applying Chill and Enchanted with a weapon-elemental attack, allowing Anna or her allies to Freeze a foe by applying Wet and then following up with a powerful physical strike to deal extreme damage.
The Aquamarine resists Fire, Water, and Ice, with none of them becoming an immunity at Level 5.
Equip Remix[]
The Alt Aquamarine has outstanding Magic Attack, and a combination of great HP, good Evade, and a bit of Magic Defence gives Anna a fair amount of safety on the front lines. Unfortunately, its Attack is embarrassingly low - only ahead of the Alt Regal Turtle and the Alt Alchemist's Bow - which somewhat wastes its boosts to Water and Ice. Although Anna can learn shared spells to take full advantage of the bow's boosts, she should focus less on offense and more on setting up literally chilling combos with the bow's other effects.
The Alt Aquamarine's Weapon-elemental skills have a good chance to inflict Chill, and it can occasionally summon a Pearl Golem to Chill the entire enemy wave while dealing some magical Ice damage and changing the weather to Huge Hail (which can also inflict Chill between turns). The bow can also summon a Sapphire Ore to hit every foe with Wet, allowing Anna to Freeze them with one of her many Chill-inducing options (if they weren't Chilled already). Aqua Arrow and Frost Arrow can also be used to further encourage Freeze on a Chilled foe, despite their low damage output.
Compared to the Alt Cold Steel, the Alt Aquamarine is bulkier and overall better at spreading Chill/Freeze en masse (despite a lower status chance on its attacks), but with less offensive synergy with Anna's base kit. It's not a bad choice for defensive support, since its high Magic Attack also gives Anna's healing skills a lot of power, but the Alt Regal Turtle provides stiff competition outside of Freeze-centric parties.
The Alt Aquamarine increases Anna's resistance to Water, Dark, and Holy, but it won't become immune to any of them at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
The Atlantis is found right after Lankyroot Jungle's Lava Cave, on a raft reached by walking on a lily pad path with the Leafy Boots.
