Trivia[]
- Mog is a direct reference to the Moogle race appearing in the Final Fantasy series, with Mog being a rather common name for major Moogles that have appeared in the games.
- Its alternate name Balrog is a direct reference to the demonic Maiar/angels from Tolkien's Legendarium (or more specifically The Lord of the Rings) and to a lesser extent, the Boxer from Street Fighter II.
- Mog's function would be replicated by NoLegs in Epic Battle Fantasy 2 and 3, as well as the Friend Dog summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 4.
