The Bandit Blade is a Water-elemental cat toy available for NoLegs in Epic Battle Fantasy 5.
Description[]
The Bandit Blade is a large silver knife with a slightly curved cutting edge and small grey circles near the base (likely meant to evoke bubbles, as per its elemental affinity). It has a dark blue hilt with lighter blue rectangular blocks for its handguard and pommel. Its off-hand item is a tan money bag with a red "$" sign on the front of it; the bag is tied off with a red rope capped off with a golden material.
Normal[]
The Bandit Blade boasts solid offensive stats, a good boost to Evade, and added punch for NoLegs's Water skills. However, it is more notable because of its other abilities: it has a chance to grant Haste between turns and it lets NoLegs steal items with certain weapon-elemental skills. While the former is inconsistent and the latter is only useful for farming, these abilities give the Bandit Blade great utility potential.
Compared to the Turtle Shell, its fellow Water-based cat toy, the Bandit Blade has less Attack and defensive bulk, as well as more inconsistent bonuses. As an offensive weapon, it is also directly inferior to the Honjo Masamune, which has better offenses even without a Water boost. On the other hand, the Bandit Blade's auto-Haste and superior Evade can make NoLegs quite effective in many roles if you don't mind the luck involved. Additionally, it can be acquired much earlier than either of its competitors - especially the Turtle Shell, which isn't available until the party reaches Redpine Town.
The Bandit Blade provides resistances to Wind, Stun, Confuse and Stagger. It becomes immune to all but the first at Level 5.
Equip Remix[]
The Alt Bandit Blade offers great Evade and Accuracy, but has below-average Attack and terrible Magic Attack. It boosts Water skills and enables NoLegs to steal items; it can also counter with a Normal Attack and has a small chance to summon CORALIA between turns, massively buffing the Evade of the entire active party.
While the Alt Bandit Blade can make the entire party much harder to hit for a while, it is hampered by the unreliability of its CORALIA summon and a general lack of other useful assets. As such, it's generally far easier to use a Target tank build with the Alt Honjo Masamune, allowing NoLegs to protect his allies by drawing in enemy fire that he can easily dodge. Even outside of that, the Alt Bandit Blade faces competition from the Alt Buster Sword, which has far stronger offenses and a slightly more consistent (if weaker) Evade-buffing auto-summon in exchange for several elemental weaknesses and no Evade/Accuracy boosts.
The Alt Bandit Blade resists Bomb, Water, Death, and Doom, becoming immune to the latter two at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]
The Bandit Blade is found inside a chest in the Wild Tropics, one screen south of the Farmer's Market; push the blocks until a path to the chest is cleared.
