The Big Chocolate Slime is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is frequently found in the Mystic Woods and Redpine Town.
Appearance[]
The Big Chocolate Slime is a massive living blob of what resembles brown chocolate pudding with brown eyes and a small, cat-like smile. It is topped with some dark brown fudge icing, decorated with tiny white sprinkles, light brown heart-shaped cookies, and a trio of bright red cherries. It is flanked by three smaller balls of the same pudding-like material, each topped with some fudge icing and sprinkles.
Overview[]
The Big Chocolate Slime is a mid-tier foe that almost exclusively uses Earth skills, with Wafer being the only exception. It is capable of inflicting Stagger and Heavy on the party to greatly increase its damage output; while not cause for extreme concern, it can catch an unprepared party off-guard. Some of its skills can also summon Chocolate Slimes and inflict a small Accuracy debuff, but these are generally negligible annoyances at worst.
However, the Big Chocolate Slime is most notable for its ability to inflict Hungry with its basic leap attack, effectively stunning a player for two turns. With a fairly high infliction chance (guaranteed on higher difficulty levels) and no way to resist it, this attack alone makes the Big Chocolate Slime a priority target. Fortunately, it's easily dispatched, so focusing fire on it won't cost the party much momentum.
The Big Chocolate Slime absorbs Earth and is immune to Wind; however, it is weak to Bomb, Dark, and especially Water. Like other Slimes, it has a massive weakness to Instant Death, meaning that any skill with 50% or higher effective chance of inflicting the status will be a guaranteed kill. Shredder is an effective means of eliminating large groups of Slimes for this reason.
If "More Foe Resistance" is on, the Big Chocolate Slime loses its Bomb and Dark weaknesses; its Water weakness is also reduced slightly. Additionally, it becomes immune to having its defenses debuffed.
The Big Chocolate Slime is notable for being the only foe to drop Cake, albeit at an impractically low rate for Farming purposes. On the other hand, it's guaranteed to drop Coffee and three Earth Balls when defeated, being the best source of the latter if you're in need of them and don't want to spend Gold at a Material Shop.

Battle Logic[]
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If Syphoned, catch score >55, and all players are Lovable → Ground Pound*;
- If catch score >55 and all players are Lovable → Chocolate Blob (1/2), Ground Pound* (1/2);
- If Syphoned or Berserked → Leap (1/3), Spit (1/3), Ground Pound* (1/3);
- Otherwise → Leap (1/6), Spit (1/6), Chocolate Blob (1/6), Wafer (1/6), Quake (1/6), Ground Pound* (1/6).
* Ground Pound becomes Double Ground Pound when <49% HP.
Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
- 100% and not Syphoned → Chocolate Blob.
Additionally, if any front line player has equipment that scares Slimes, the Big Chocolate Slime will inflict 2x Berserk on themselves at the start of their turn (this does not take up their action).
Summon[]
The Big Chocolate Slime can be captured and used as a summon. It uses a modified version of its Chocolate Blob attack to hit all foes with modest magical Earth damage and a high chance of Heavy status.
