The Blizzard (or Blizzard Blade in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 v3) is an Ice-elemental sword available for Matt in Epic Battle Fantasy 2, 3 and 4.
Description[]
The Blizzard is a large bastard sword made primarily of blue ice. It has a large, tapering ice blade set in a metallic gray cross-guard, with small ice spikes on the pommel and sides of the cross-guard. There are mysterious symbols engraved into the middle of the blade. The hilt is proportionately small and wrapped in a brown leather-like material to function as a grip.
The Blizzard is a powerful offensive weapon with the second-best Attack of any sword in its respective games, also granting modest defensive stats and a boost to Matt's Ice skills. It also reduces Accuracy and Evade, although these are relatively minor penalties.
Epic Battle Fantasy 2[]
The Blizzard is a strong, balanced weapon that has good offenses and defenses at the cost of modest Accuracy and Evade penalties. It is tied with the Anarchy for being the second most physically powerful sword (however, the Soul Eater has double the power, albeit with significantly weaker defenses), and can somewhat reliably Stun foes through its Unleash. It is also the only Ice-elemental weapon, and provides the strongest boost to Iceberg.
Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]
The Blizzard is a heavy-hitting offensive weapon that offers a huge Attack boost, average Magic Attack, and a HP bonus only matched by the Gaia Axe and the Avenger (although it's still not very high). However, this comes at the cost of Accuracy and Evade penalties. It can also debuff a foe's Evade by up to 50% by hitting them with Unleash, but this is something of a niche feature.
While the Blizzard is a powerful sword, it is generally outclassed by the Soul Eater, particularly for Berserker builds. Despite better defenses, no elemental weaknesses, and an exploitable elemental boost, the Attack gap between the two swords is such that its boosted Iceberg does identical damage to that of the Soul Eater and all of Matt's other attacks will be weaker in comparison. Coupled with weapon-elemental attacks that cannot be absorbed, the Soul Eater is ultimately a much more potent weapon and typically a better choice for all-out offensive builds, although the Blizzard's resistances can be useful for certain battles, especially when it is obtained.
The Blizzard significantly resists Ice and Water, up to 60% at Level 5.
