"Oh hey, it's a big guy. Never seen a golem like this before!"
―Matt being pleasantly chill with a new foe.

The Bone Golem is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5 introduced in the v2 update. It is normally found in the Battle Arena, but the "Foe Remix" Custom Game mode allows the party to encounter it elsewhere in the overworld, with the first one appearing in the deserts of Hope Harbor on the way to Jotun.

Appearance[]

The Bone Golem is a hulking, barely-humanoid figure made of massive chunks of light brown rock, with Emerald crystals acting as joints and toes. Instead of hands, it has large, jagged blades of bone (similar to the blades summoned for Bone Pillar) at the end of each arm. More bones are visible on each shoulder; the skull of some unknown beast on the right and a pair of ribs on the left. It also has some white bandages draped over its head and left shoulder, giving the impression that it is blindfolded; despite this, it has normal Accuracy.

Overview[]

The Bone Golem's attacks are largely physical and non-elemental, though it does have some Earth and Wind attacks. While it can inflict Stagger, Weaken, and Shroud, its main threat comes from the sheer strength of its attacks. Unlike most Golems, its skills summon Stone Idols instead of Ores.

When encountered outside of the Battle Arena, the Bone Golem can use Sand Dune and Bone Pillar twice in a row to hit two players per attack (or the same player twice if they have Target status). These moves hit once if only one front-line player is alive.

The Bone Golem is fairly vulnerable to a Wet-infliction strategy; not only does it lack resistance to the status, it takes extra damage from both Water and Ice, with the latter being its biggest elemental weakness. It also has no resistance to Weaken, Tired, or Curse, allowing the player to wear down its stats and (in the case of the latter) boost the damage of one of its other elemental weaknesses. Its mediocre Evade makes it fairly easy to hit, despite the risk of Accuracy debuffs from Sand Dune; physical attacks will be more effective against it, due to its superior Magic Defence.

The Bone Golem absorbs Earth, is immune to Wind, has a weakness to Water, Holy, Bomb, and especially Ice, and resists all other elements. It is also immune to Stun, Chill, Freeze, Poison, Virus, Doom, and Instant Death, as well as slightly resisting all stat debuffs besides HP. With "More Foe Resistance" enabled, it loses the Water and Holy weaknesses, becomes immune to the elements it resisted (except for Dark), and gains a strong resistance to Attack and Magic Attack debuffs.

  • If catch score >55 and all players are Lovable → Ground Pound (1/2), Shrouding Breath (1/2);
  • <39% HP → Bone Pillar (1/3), Sand Dune (1/3), Shrouding Breath (1/3);
  • <79% HP → Triple Hit (1/5), Ground Pound (1/5), Bone Pillar (1/5), Sand Dune (1/5), Shrouding Breath (1/5);
  • Otherwise → Triple Hit (1/3), Ground Pound (1/3), Shrouding Breath (1/3).

Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
