The Cardboard Box is a male hat available in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It currently has no armor counterparts.

Description

The Cardboard Box is a plain cardboard box worn over the head, with holes to allow the wearer to see. Its appearance varies depending on who wears it:

• When worn by Matt, it has an angry expression drawn in orange marker, and the eyeholes are cut in the shape of angry eyes.
• When worn by Lance, it has a wide rectangular visor, as well as several smaller ventilation holes in the mouth area.
• When worn by NoLegs, it resembles its equipment icon, with two circular eyeholes and a line that looks like a mouth drawn in red marker.

The Cardboard Box has relatively mediocre stats, but is extremely useful for support builds. The Cardboard Box modestly raises Magic Attack and Defence, but provides an average boost for Magic Defence. What makes the Cardboard Box useful is its ability to improve the power of both buffs and debuffs. As the only male hat to do so, this makes the Cardboard Box one of the best options for dedicated support builds. It also generally works well with Lance for day to day use, as his main elemental skills (Bullet Hell, Plasma Field and Antimatter Flux) are all magical and inflict defensive debuffs on their targets.

The Cardboard Box provides resistances to Thunder, Syphon, Disable and Stun.

Equip Remix

The Alt Cardboard Box is a bizarre gimmick of a hat that has crippling penalties but has useful traits for single player runs or Battle Arena.

The Alt Cardboard Box has no stats. However, as it levels up it acquires the ability to buff all of Defence, Magic Defence, Evade, and HP. While the elemental weaknesses and lack of stats make this pointless on a tank in normal situations, the sheer number of buffs makes for good enough turn compression to be useful in single player environments.

The Alt Cardboard Box gives weaknesses to Water, Fire and Wind. None of these change.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

It is found in the farm area at the Wild Tropics, in a chest guarded by some Stone Idols.

	It's just a regular box. Level 2: Defending also buffs defence by 80%. Level 3: Defending also buffs magic defence by 80%. Level 4: Defending also buffs evade by 30%. Level 5: Defending also buffs HP by 20%.
