Description[]
The Casual Cap is a red and white baseball cap, with the characters ":D" (a specific kind of emoticon meaning a smile) in green on the white part of the cap.
The Casual Cap is an unusual hat with modest defenses, fair Magic Attack, and amazing boosts to Evade and Accuracy. It is tied with the Headband for the best Evade and second-best Accuracy of any male hat - only the Cowboy Hat beats it in the latter regard. It can improve its wearer's dodging abilities even further by buffing his Evade if he suffers a powerful attack, making it less likely for the foes to land a follow-up strike before he can be healed.
Unfortunately, the Casual Cap is largely outclassed by the Headband, which has identical Accuracy and Evade while being available only slightly later than its competitor. While the Headband has no bulk whatsoever, it also has powerful offensive stats, the ability to make its wearer Brave, and three useful elemental resistances, which generally proves superior to the Casual Cap's Evade buff (especially since it requires Matt or Lance to take a strong hit first). That said, the Casual Cap's stats and status immunity give it a niche in a support-oriented Lance build, affording him decent defensive capabilities and great Evade while moderately enhancing his magic power and protecting him from some of the most dangerous Status Effects.
The Casual Cap resists Death, Syphon and Stun, becoming immune to all of them at Level 5.
