The Cat Bomber is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It's primarily found in No Man's Land, the Mystic Woods, and the Deathly Hollows, often alongside other members of the Kitten Army.
Appearance[]
Cat Bombers are fluffy cats that wear bandannas and arm themselves with explosives to attack. They come in several colors, including all white, black with white-tipped ears, and brown. They can be seen carrying Hand Bombs or sticks of dynamite, and wear either solid red or white bandannas.
Overview[]
Cat Bombers are similar to Bits and Ores, in that they tend to perform a self-destructive attack at the first opportunity. Unlike Bits and Ores, however, Cat Bombers have no other form of attack, and it technically has two to choose from; however, which one they use is dependent on how many bombs they have left. Both are single-target magical Bomb attacks with a chance to inflict Stagger; the player can knock away the Cat Bomber's second bomb with a high-powered attack, sharply reducing its offense by forcing it to use its weaker attack.
While they don't last long, a squad of Cat Bombers can deal major damage, potentially even taking out a player. They tend to prioritize the healthiest player and will Surrender if they're the only foe left.
Defensively, the Cat Bomber has a diverse assortment of weaknesses and no resistances to any status or element. It is weak to Thunder, Fire, Water, and especially Bio; if "More Foe Resistance" is active, it becomes neutral to the first two and only slightly weak to the others. Because of their particularly short-lived nature, it is best to attack Cat Bombers with multi-target attacks, basing the attack of choice off of what other foes are present. If the player has sufficient Bomb resistance, Cat Bombers can be ignored entirely, due to their attacks being 100% Bomb-elemental.

Battle Logic[]
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If catch score >55 and all players are Lovable, or if no other foes are left → Surrender;
- If it lost the second bomb → Jump & Explode;
- Otherwise → Run & Explode.
Additionally, the Cat Bomber will target the least damaged player with its attacks.
Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
- 100%;
- If it lost the second bomb → Jump & Explode;
- Otherwise → Run & Explode.
Summon[]
The Cat Bomber can be captured and used as a summon, or be randomly summoned by the Mecha Suit (female armor). It performs its explosive suicide attack on the targeted foe, dealing modest magical Bomb damage with a high chance to Stagger them for a turn.

Trivia[]

- In several demos of the game, the Cat Bomber's bandana had the controversial Japanese Rising Sun flag on it. This has since been removed.
- Along with the Cat Ninja, the Cat Bomber is the only Cat foe in EBF5 that doesn't change its stats when its offhand item is lost.
- The Cat Bomber was designed by Federico "Fede" Sosa. Its original concept art shows it with a stick of dynamite tied to its body that it would use for its suicidal attack; it was also able to throw bombs, dynamite, or hand grenades as an alternative move.
- Fede's suggested names for the Cat Bomber included "Katmikaze" and "Cat-boom."
- The concept art for the Cat Bomber can be found in the entrance hall of the Iron Fortress, next to a similar picture for the Mirrors.
