As a neutral status Chill cannot be cured with standard cleansing effects or items, and won't be removed by getting {{s|Dispel}}led either. The main way for players to remove Chill off themselves is the [[Cutie Worm]] summon. Like most status effects, it also vanishes after the battle, when the victim dies (except if with Auto-Revive), or after a number of turns. Getting hit with {{e|Fire}}-elemental damage will also remove the status, including the damage from Burn or Scorch. Being inflicted with Freeze will also remove the status.

EBF5 Status Chill

Chill is a neutral/multi-purpose status effect introduced in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is associated with the Ice element, and its icon is a white and cyan snowflake. It shares its resistance with Freeze. Its effects are as follows:

  • Increases Water and Ice-elemental damage taken by 50% while decreasing Bio-elemental damage taken by 50% (in all cases it's only the elemental part); each time an Ice/Water attack is boosted or a Bio attack is dampened, one stack of Chill will be consumed.
    • Damage from statuses is also affected (thus dampening the damage of Poison and Virus), however, in this case stacks of Chill will not be consumed.
  • Doubles the chance to get Frozen.
  • Any incoming Wet becomes Freeze instead, with status chance and stacks remaining the same.
    • The one exception is if the attack that inflicts Wet also heals the target, in which case it remains as Wet.
  • Any attack that inflicts Chill will cancel out Burn, Scorch and Berserk from the targets, this happens regardless of whether the status was applied or not (including when the foe is immune to it).

As a neutral status, Chill cannot be cured with standard cleansing effects or items, and won't be removed by getting Dispelled either. The main way for players to remove Chill off themselves is the Cutie Worm summon. Like most status effects, it also vanishes after the battle, when the victim dies (except if with Auto-Revive), or after a number of turns. Getting hit with Fire-elemental damage will also remove the status, including the damage from Burn or Scorch. Being inflicted with Freeze will also remove the status.
