The Coal Bat is a foe in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and Adventure Story, also available as a summon in the former. It appears mostly around dark, unlit areas, such as Crystal Caverns (in EBF4). It is a member of the Bats enemy class.
Appearance[]
Like all Bats, the Coal Bat is a bat-like creature with a round body, a pair of wings, and small feet. It has a rather unique face among Bats due to its crystalline yellow eyes and its jagged mouth.
Overview[]
The Coal Bat is a relatively insignificant foe, notable only for its high Evade. It can debuff a player's Defence stat and inflict an Accuracy debuff, but is generally not very dangerous.
The Coal Bat resists [[Dark (element)|Dark]] and is immune to Earth. It is weak to [[Bio (element)|Poison]] and very weak to [[Thunder (element)|Thunder]], [[Wind (element)|Wind]] and [[Holy (element)|Holy]]. The Coal Bat is also vulnerable to Stun and extremely vulnerable to Tired. It can be easily dispatched with a skill from the Thunder line.

- Berserked or/and Syphoned → Wing Attack;
- Otherwise → Wing Attack (1/3), Horrible Sound (1/3), Into Darkness (1/3).
Summon[]
The Coal Bat summon is found in Ashwood Forest, inside the lava cave, after pushing a block to make a shortcut. When used, a Coal Bat will dissipate into a dark cloud of coal powder, dealing minor Dark-elemental damage with high chance to debuff all foes' accuracy. It is usually used as an alternative to the Solar Flare skill.
