The Drowned Fallen is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is often found along the Rainbow River and in the Frozen Valley.
Appearance[]
The Drowned Fallen is a suit of blue and dull green armor animated by the spirit of a "battle mage". Its helmet has a crystalline green horn on top, a blue plume on the back, a small grate over the mouth area, and a pair of blue-green eyes glowing beneath its protruding visor. It also has large shoulder guards and four-fingered gauntlets, one of which holds a silver staff with dull green accents and a green crystal head. Its body is covered by a blue robe with dark blue details and a matching vest/cloak held by a green brooch.
Overview[]
Unlike the other Fallen, the Drowned Fallen prefers a magical offensive, although it still has some physical staff attacks. It has an abundance of Wind spells, some of which can inflict Stagger, but it can also cast Bubble Ring to inflict magical Water damage with a high chance of Syphon. It's smarter than the average foe, choosing the best spell based on the party's total elemental resistance; on higher difficulty levels, it'll aim its single-target magic at players with the least resistance to their specific elements.
Inflicting Syphon or Berserk on a Drowned Fallen makes it much less of a threat by limiting it to its physical skills. Like the rest of its brethren, it can also be intimidated by ghost-scaring equipment, going Berserk at high HP and fleeing at low HP.
The Drowned Fallen is immune to Thunder, resists Bomb and absorbs Dark, Wind, and Water to a lesser degree. It is weak to Holy and especially Ice. It is also immune to Curse, Bad Luck, Weaken, Tired, Doom, and Instant Death. With "More Foe Resistance" enabled, it absorbs Ice, becomes immune to Holy, Fire, and Bio, and slightly resists Attack, Defence, and Accuracy debuffs; incidentally, this means that only Earth and non-elemental attacks will do normal damage against it.

Battle Logic[]
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If Syphoned or Berserked, catchscore >55, and all players are Lovable → Flee;
- If Syphoned or Berserked → Double Hit (1/2), Staff Throw (1/2);
- If catchscore >55 and all players are Lovable → Wind Surge;
- Otherwise → Double Hit (1/4), Staff Throw (1/4), Wind Surge (1/4);
- Chooses best elemental spell based on active party's elemental resistance →
Bubble Ring (1/4) / [Air (1/8), Airwave (1/8)].
- Chooses best elemental spell based on active party's elemental resistance →
*On Hard/Epic, Airwave and Bubble Ring will prioritize targets that aren't resistant to their elements.
Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
- 33%;
- If Syphoned → Double Hit;
- Otherwise → Wind Surge.
Additionally, if any front line player has equipment that scares Ghosts, the Drowned Fallen will immediately Surrender and Flee on their turn if <49% HP, or inflict 1x Berserk on themselves otherwise (the latter does not take up their action).
Summon[]
The Drowned Fallen can be captured and used as a summon. It removes all stat debuffs from the active party.
