Earth's Whisper is an Earth-elemental bow available for Anna in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is exclusive to the paid version of the game available on Steam, as well as the outdated Battle Demo.

Description

Earth's Whisper is a seven-stringed harp that Anna wields like a bow, complete with a strumming noise whenever she fires an arrow. It has a vaguely oval frame made of brown wood; the lower part is covered with dark brown clods of dirt, while the upper part has a green vine wrapped around it. A few twigs stick out of the top of the harp, with the central twig bearing a green leaf and a small pink flower with a yellow center.

Earth's Whisper fires wooden arrows with metal heads and two asymmetrical green leaves for feathers. It shares this arrow design with the Fairy Bow.

Normal

Earth's Whisper has mediocre Attack, average Magic Attack, and a decent Defence boost. Its main asset is its powerful Cataclysm unleash, which benefits from its Earth boost and has a fair chance of being triggered off Anna's Weapon-elemental skills (especially her Normal Attack). These skills also have a fair chance to inflict Heavy, which will boost Cataclysm's damage even further. The bow also has a high chance to cast Refresh between turns, healing a random party member and giving them Bless.

Although Earth's Whisper has less bulk and worse Heavy infliction than Gaia's Gift, its better offenses and high-powered unleash make it more effective in a direct attacker build. Pairing it with the Meow Meow Badge gives its unleash more consistency with Combo Shot or Piercing Shot, and its auto-Refresh can help support Anna and her allies to potentially reduce time spent healing or curing status effects. It also becomes immune to two elements when fully forged, which can be helpful against certain foes or as part of a Virus strategy.

Earth's Whisper grants resistance to Earth and Bio, becoming immune to both at Level 5.

Equip Remix

Being a Bio-based bow, Alt Earth's Whisper's abilities are geared more towards inflicting and amplifying Bio damage. It has a good boost to Attack and moderate boosts to Magic Attack and Magic Defence, as well as a bonus to Bio skills. Its Weapon-elemental skills have a great chance of inflicting Tired (which boosts Bio damage even further) and unleashing Razor Leaf to bombard the entire wave at once for decent damage; this has great synergy with its Normal Attack counter, since it's guaranteed to trigger the unleash. Between turns, the bow can also summon a Dirt Boulder to hit every foe with mild Earth damage and a high chance of Tired, which works particularly well with Razor Leaf.

As a Bio-boosting bow, Alt Earth's Whisper is a more focused version of the Alt Gaia's Gift, trading the second elemental boost and some Magic Attack for slightly better Attack and more reliable Tired infliction. Outside of Bio damage, it may be outclassed by the more generally powerful Alt Fairy Bow and the Alt Angel Wing; in its own Attack range, the Alt Cold Steel and Alt Iron Tusk may be preferable for different elemental offensives.

Alt Earth's Whisper resists Earth and Bio, with both becoming an immunity at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

Earth's Whisper is found inside a chest beside a rubble pile in the Mineshaft Maze. From the entrance, travel in this order: left-left-up-left-down-down-right-right-down.

Trivia

• When Anna uses Earth's Whisper or Heaven's Voice in battle for the first time, she'll comment on being a "Spoony Bard". This is a reference to Tellah's famous line describing Edward in Final Fantasy IV. Coincidentally, Anna shares a name with Tellah's daughter, who died while eloping with Edward (provoking the aforementioned line from Tellah when he finds out).
