The Evil Eye (named Eyeball before the v2 update) is a foe in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is one of The Devourer's backup appendages, being summoned to support him in battle; he will begin with two Evil Eyes in slots 2 and 4, and may summon more to replace lost appendages.
Appearance[]
The Evil Eye resembles a much smaller, simplified version of The Devourer himself, being a mass of flesh and bone dominated by a single yellow eye. The eye has orange veins and a distinctive cross-shaped pupil with a red outline; unlike The Devourer's main eye, it lacks small diagonal slits between its points. It sits in a red socket lined with white spikes; behind this, some pink flesh can be seen. Its base is a brown carapace with four large points, with two each pointing upward and downward. A pair of thin, dark purple tentacles extend from the back of the base, presumably connecting the Evil Eye to The Devourer's main body.
Like The Devourer himself, the Evil Eye normally stares at the party, but its idle animation will have it periodically glance at the screen.
Overview[]
The Evil Eye is the main supporter of The Devourer, specializing in heals, buffs, and annoying status effects. Its strongest offensive skill is Dev Wind, which hits a single player for decent magical Wind damage; more importantly, it's quite accurate and inflicts Curse to wear away the victim's defenses. Its physical attacks are non-elemental and fairly weak, but one of them has a good chance of making the target Stuffed; on higher difficulty levels, its infliction rate increases and its other physical attack gains a great Stun chance.
However, the Evil Eye's true worth to The Devourer lies in its support skills. Like Flybots and most Turrets, it can cast Recycle to invert a single target's buffs and debuffs; it will always pick whoever will benefit or suffer the most from this (depending on if it's a player or foe). Its other support abilities let it heal a wounded ally (which also purges Stun and Syphon) or give them a good buff to both offenses, both defenses, and Accuracy all at once. Both of these abilities will prioritize The Devourer if he fulfills their usage conditions; otherwise, they will target one of his appendages as needed.
Overall, the Evil Eye is very capable of throwing a wrench in the party's damage output while making it much harder to survive The Devourer's attacks. Fortunately, all of its moves are single-target, its only above-average stats are Evade and especially Accuracy, and it has the lowest HP among The Devourer's appendages, making it relatively easy to kill if focused on. Furthermore, it has few resistances to elements or status effects; Stun, Freeze, Syphon, and even Berserk can prevent it from using its most dangerous support moves. Following the v2 update, it cannot use Recycle on its first turn, giving players time to neutralize it before they have to worry about it messing with their buffing or debuffing strategies.
The Evil Eye absorbs Bio and resists Water, but it is severely weak to Holy and Dark. It strongly resists Doom, Instant Death, and all stat debuffs except for HP and Evade, but it has no other status resistances. Enabling "More Foe Resistance" allows it to absorb Water and Bomb while making it resistant to Weaken and Tired and immune to Earth and Stun.
As with all of The Devourer's appendages, the Evil Eye cannot be captured and used as a summon.

Evil Eye gains up to 24% extra Attack, Magic Attack, HP and Accuracy depending on how many optional bosses have been killed, medals awarded and monster cards obtained:
- +1% for each of the 13 optional bosses (counting the Sketch bosses as a single boss) for a 13% total. Bosses included are: ??.@'¬?]-?e??255, Snowflake, The Sketch Boss Rush, Sól and Skadi, Neon Valhalla, Telperion, Vulcan, Crystal Hydra, Matteus, Natalia, Lancelot, Annabelle and God.
- +1% at the 50, 65, 80, and 100 medals thresholds, for a 4% total.
- +0.04% for each of the 50 Monster Cards obtained, for a 2% total.
- +0.2% for each of the 12 Arcade bosses, the 8 Data Bunker simulations, and the 5 1P Challenges in the Battle Arena; for a 5% total.
- Before the v2 update, the boost maxed out at 15%. In the web/free version the maximum possible increase is limited to 5% only, due to unavailability of all the optional content.

Battle Logic[]
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If Syphoned or Berserked → Attack (1/2), Stuffing Attack (1/2);
- If a foe has at least a 25% debuff on Attack, Magic Attack, Defence, Magic Defence or Accuracy → Dev Defend (8/10), Attack (1/10), Stuffing Attack (1/10);
- If a foe is Stunned, Frozen, Syphoned or is <25% HP → Dev Heal (8/10), Attack (1/10), Stuffing Attack (1/10);
- If it's not its first turn of combat, and for any active player
[sum of buffs - sum of debuffs] > 100%
, or for any foe[sum of debuffs - sum of buffs] > 100%
→ Recycle (36/150), Attack (43/150), Stuffing Attack (43/150), Dev Wind (28/150); - Otherwise → Attack (11/30), Stuffing Attack (11/30), Dev Wind (8/30).
* Dev Defend and Dev Heal always target the first foe that fulfills their usage conditions, checking in order of 3rd slot, 2nd slot, 4th slot, 1st slot and finally 5th slot.
* Recycle always targets the best reverse target, ignoring Lovable and Target.
Before the v2 update, the Evil Eye could use Recycle on its first turn of combat.
Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
- 25% and not Syphoned → Recycle (1/2), Dev Wind (1/2).
