The Breastplate is a female armor available in Epic Battle Fantasy 3 and 4. Its hat counterpart is the Drill Bits, and its male armor and hat counterparts are the Knight Armor and the Knight Helmet.

Description

Contrary to its name, the Breastplate is actually a full outfit, consisting of a grey dress with detached sleeves, leggings, a black corset, and red boots. Silver armor covers the wearer's shoulders, chest, and hips, and black belts are wrapped around their wrists.

The Breastplate is a defensive armor that greatly increases its wearer's bulk. However, it also reduces her Evade and increases the amount of damage she suffers from certain elements, usually including Fire.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3

The Breastplate provides large boosts to Natalie's Defence and Magic Defence, as well as a substantial boost to her HP; however, it also lowers her Evade and Accuracy by small amounts. Its elemental weaknesses are quite mild, but they'll still increase the damage she takes from certain foes, especially in the later areas where its weaknesses are rather common.

The Breastplate resists Dispel, up to a full immunity at Level 5. It also has very slight Fire and Thunder weaknesses that do not change as it is forged.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

Between big increases to HP and Magic Defence and an even bigger Defence boost, the Breastplate can give Natalie or Anna some serious durability. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of a major Evade penalty and two elemental weaknesses; coupled with a lack of resistances or special effects, it can be more trouble than it's worth unless properly supported.

The Breastplate is modestly weak to Fire and Water. Its vulnerability remains constant at all levels.
