The Fusion Blade, (called the Fusion Sword in EBF4) is a Bomb-elemental sword available for Matt in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and 5. In EBF4, it is exclusive to the Steam release of the game and the Premium Pack.
Description[]
The Fusion Blade's design differs drastically between appearances, but it is generally a high-tech sword with an industrial aesthetic. Its most notable feature is the orange-glowing sections on its blade, which could be super-heated metal or pure energy.
The Fusion Blade generally offers good Attack, good-to-decent Magic Attack, and a small HP bonus. It empowers Matt's Bomb skills, which his base skill set lacks; outside of items and shared skills, the sword can also unleash a Bomb-based skill of its own with Weapon-elemental attacks.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
The Fusion Sword has a massive, bulky blade resembling a giant Bowie knife. It has three small openings along the cutting edge of the blade, revealing a bright orange glow; these openings are connected to intricate designs on the flat of the blade that resemble patterns on a circuit board. The hilt is barely distinguishable from the blade, but appears to incorporate wires and a pair of tubes/exhaust pipes. The cross-guard is small and nondescript.
The Fusion Sword provides a high Attack boost, an average Magic Attack boost, and a bonus to HP and Defence; however, it also has a significant Evade loss. Its effects are somewhat underwhelming; the Burn it inflicts on foes are rarely significant, and Matt can't learn any Bomb skills to take advantage of its elemental boost. While he does have access to Hand Bombs and the sword's Big Blast unleash, both attacks run off of his weaker offensive stat.
The Fusion Sword resists Fire and Bomb, with neither becoming an immunity at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]
The Fusion Blade is smaller and sleeker than its EBF4 counterpart, now looking more like a sword than a giant Bowie knife. The blade's color was changed to a dark steely gray, and the edge appears to be cherry-red from heat. The blade and the hilt are now separated by a cross-guard that has a fan inside it; the cross-guard's color will change to match that of the Spartan Cuirass and Shell Armor if either is equipped. A small, curved secondary blade protrudes from the side of the cross-guard.
Normal[]
The Fusion Blade has solid Attack and Magic Attack, along with a decent HP bonus. Its weapon-elemental skills can unleash Bullet Bob, ignore defensive buffs, and potentially Burn their targets, but none of these are particularly notable. It also empowers Matt's Bomb skills, but he won't get much mileage from that unless he learns the Bullet Bob shared skill, which tends to be stronger than the sword's unleash (especially when it levels up to Big Bullet).
The Fusion Blade resists Fire, Bomb, and Bio. None of these become an immunity at Level 5.
Equip Remix[]
The Alt Fusion Blade has good Attack, average Magic Attack, and a little Defence. It largely revolves around exploiting Dry; it inflicts the status with weapon-elemental skills, and it boosts the power of both Fire and Bomb skills on top of the bonus they get from hitting a Dry target. While Matt has no innate Bomb skills, the Alt Fusion Blade's weapon-elemental skills can cast Big Bullet; they also stack enough Dry that Matt's allies can subsequently exploit the status even if Big Bullet triggers. Finally, the Alt Fusion Blade can counter attacks with Unleash, allowing it to apply its on-hit effects while dealing solid elemental damage.
The Alt Fusion Blade resists Fire, Thunder, and Dispel, becoming immune to the latter at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
The Fusion Sword is found on Battle Mountain, specifically in the bottom-right chest on the cloudy screen. The chest is guarded by a nine-wave foe rush with foes from the Temple of Godcat. Winged Boots are required to get there.

Trivia[]
- The name Fusion Sword is a reference to a certain sword in the Final Fantasy games, although it otherwise bears little resemblance aside from the general proportions of its EBF4 appearance.
- Given the items used to upgrade it (Plasma Balls and Plutonium Cores), it also appears to actually be powered by a fusion reactor.
