The Gash Club is an Earth-elemental sword available for Matt in Epic Battle Fantasy 4.
Description[]
The Gash Club, as its name suggests, is a large, crude club made of brown wood, with several jagged beige spikes protruding from both ends. It is presumably made from a Gash Nut tree, although it's unclear if the spikes are metal, bone, or some sort of polished wood.
The Gash Club has good Attack and subpar Magic Attack, but no other stats. Its weapon-elemental skills can Poison foes and unleash Log, which reliably Staggers the target while benefitting from the weapon's Earth boost. These traits synergize with its Normal Attack counter to give Matt a fair amount of passive damage output on top of an exploitable boost for his natural Earth skills.
Unfortunately, the Gash Club is an underwhelming weapon overall that will be outclassed very quickly as more swords become available. The Dragon Claw is far better at inflicting Poison on enemies while the Drill Lance has superior Earth damage and general offensive power; neither will be acquired until much later in the game, but Matt has a variety of other swords that can match or surpass the Gash Club outside of battles where its elemental damage or resistances are specifically necessary.
The Gash Club resists Earth, Bio, and Poison, becoming fully immune to the latter at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
The Gash Club is found in a chest at the western entrance of Ashwood Forest. The chest is one of two chests in the northeastern (upper-right) corner of the screen, blocked by a tree that can be cut down with The Axe.
