The Genji Armor is a male armor available in Epic Battle Fantasy 3, 4 and 5. Its hat counterpart is the Genji Helmet.

Description[]

The Genji Armor is a suit of samurai armor with golden trim, a belt or sash around the waist, and a brown rope tied loosely around the neck. In EBF3 and 4, it is predominantly red with bright golden trim, with the armor pieces being brighter than the main suit. In EBF5, the armor becomes brown and made of overlapping plates, the clothes become green, the golden details become duller and stud-like, and a black sash is wrapped around the midriff, mostly covering the now-brown belt.

The Genji Armor usually offers an Earth resistance and some of the strongest Attack and Defence boosts of any male armor; however, it has poor Magic Defence to compensate. It's highly useful for physically offensive builds, despite facing competition from the likes of the Viking Fur and the Bone Armor.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]

The Genji Armor is one of the most physically-inclined armors in the game, with unparalleled Attack and a Defence boost only surpassed by the Knight Armor; however, this comes at the cost of an Evade penalty and unimpressive Magic Defence. It also buffs the wearer's Attack if he suffers a powerful attack, enabling devastating physical retaliation on the next turn. These traits make it a good option for amplifying Matt's best stats; on the other hand, Lance will prefer armor with more balanced defenses or better magical prowess.

The Genji Armor resists Earth, up to 50% at 5evel 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]

The Genji Armor has the third-highest Defence and the second-best Attack of any male armor, but its Magic Defence is tied with the Karate Gi for the absolute lowest among male armor. Its only effect gives its wearer a great Attack buff if he takes a powerful attack; this works better on Matt than Lance.

As powerful as it is, the Genji Armor faces stiff competition from other armors. The Space Suit and Dragon Armor sacrifice a bit of Attack for identical Defence, far superior Magic Defence, and other useful effects: the former has HP and MP boosts to make it even more durable, while the latter has auto-Brave to compensate for its lower offensive boosts. Additionally, the Bone Armor completely outclasses the Genji Armor's stats, although its auto-Curse and elemental weaknesses can compromise its durability in long battles.

The Genji Armor is resistant to Earth and Wind, but neither becomes an immunity at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]

Normal[]

The Genji Armor has great Attack and Defence; among male armor, it's tied for the highest in the former and the second-highest in the latter. On the other hand, only the Turtle Gi has less Magic Defence than it, so caution should be taken around magically-inclined foes. It empowers Earth skills and allows the wearer to sharply buff his Attack on Defend, making it a versatile option for Matt in particular.

The Genji Armor provides the wearer with resistance against Earth and Wind. Neither becomes an immunity at Level 5.

Equip Remix[]

The Alt Genji Armor forgoes its traditional physical specialization in favor of being a strong all-around defensive armor. It has great Defence and Magic Defence to reduce incoming damage, along with a small Evade bonus to make hitting its wearer slightly more difficult. It powers up both Earth and Wind skills, and enables the wearer to gain Good Luck by Defending himself.

Despite lacking an Attack boost, the Alt Genji Armor is still a good fit for Matt, who can learn Tempest to complement the strong Earth skills he naturally learns. NoLegs can also get good mileage out of the armor's boosts with skills like Tornado Tantrum and Sand Dune, but his natural frailty makes its defensive stats somewhat irrelevant. In contrast, Lance appreciates the balanced defenses but is entirely reliant on shared skills to exploit the elemental boosts.

The Alt Genji Armor resists Earth and Wind, but it won't be immune to either of them at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]

The Genji Armor is given to the player as a reward for completing a quest in Glacier Valley for Hajime.
