Epic Battle Fantasy Wiki

The Giant Red Slime is a foe in Epic Battle Fantasy 3. It mostly appears around Volcano Peak.

The Giant Red Slime looks like most other Giant Slimes; it is an oversized version of the smaller Red Slime with three smaller blobs for "limbs." It has a multitude of brown stones protruding from its back (one of which has speared a tiny Red Slime) and is filled with an assortment of bones from some unknown animal, some of which protrude from its body like spikes.

The Giant Red Slime is a mighty foe whose most notable trait is its complete immunity to magic damage; it takes no damage from any magic attacks. It mainly uses Fire attacks, but it also has the Earth-based Ground Pound used by most Big Slimes. It can slightly debuff Defence and Magic Defence - the latter more so than the former - and rain down ashes to damage the party while healing its Fire-immune allies; unfortunately for it, the latter move is magic-based, so it can't heal itself or any accompanying Red Slimes. Most of its attacks are pure elemental (aside from its basic Body Slam), so Fire and Earth resistance will greatly reduce its damage output.

Due to the Giant Red Slime's magic immunity, Natalie's only options are the Meow Meow skill, attack items, or Doom/Instant Death with the Death Bringer staff. Lance's Deep Blue will deal serious damage with Double Shot and Unload, especially if he gets a Flood unleash. Matt's Seiken is highly effective, especially if he's wielding Heaven's Gate, but a Berserker build with the Soul Eater out-damages it, despite the Giant Red Slime being neutral to Dark. It may be best to have Matt alone attack the Giant Red Slime while the other party members focus on healing, buffing, and defeating other foes in the wave. Attempting to exploit its Poison weakness is ill-advised; the party has very few physical Poison options, and the Poison status does nothing on account of being treated as magic damage.

The Giant Red Slime greatly absorbs Fire and is immune to Earth, but it takes extra damage from Holy, Poison, and especially Water. It is also incredibly vulnerable to Doom and Instant Death.

The Giant Red Slime is completely immune to any source of magical damage, any magical attack that hits it will deal 0 damage instead. However, that doesn't prevent status effects nor stat debuffs from being inflicted.
Prior to the 2016 update, Fire- and Poison-elemental attacks were an exception to the rule, independent of their element %. With these exceptions cut, the slime can no longer heal from its own Hot Ash attack, and cannot be damaged by the Poison status despite being weak to the element.
