The Giga Harpoon is a foe in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is a stronger version of the Harpoon Turret found almost exclusively in the Mineshaft Maze dungeon.
Appearance[]
The Giga Harpoon is essentially a recolor of the Harpoon Turret, and thus has a similar design. It is a large, boxy cannon loaded with a massive harpoon on a chain that allows it to retract the spear after firing. Its barrel is a brassy reddish-brown with light red markings, with the lip being the same metallic tan as the bulky frame connecting it to a pair of hinges protruding from a similarly-colored panel in the ground or on the Neon Valhalla. The back of the turret has two small antennae and a few wires.
Overview[]
The Giga Harpoon has the same abilities and tactics as its weaker counterpart; while it can hit fairly hard by shooting its harpoon at players, its specialty is disrupting them and making them easier targets for its allies. Its signature trick is using its harpoon to force a random player out of the battle, dragging in one of the backup players instead. Like most Turrets, it can cast Lock On, Recycle, and Electron Gun; it can also use Bind to greatly debuff the party's Evade.
It's worth noting that the Giga Harpoon doesn't actually have stronger stats than the Harpoon Turret - rather, it has higher base power for its harpoon-related attacks. Much like the Harpoon Turret and unlike other Turrets, it will not Surrender when afflicted with Syphon; however, the status will prevent it from using most of its disruptive skills.
The Giga Harpoon has a wide range of weaknesses, including Thunder, Ice, Water and especially Bomb and Earth. However, it is immune to Fire, Wind and Bio. While the player can try a variety of attacks to crush it, during the Neon Valhalla fight it may be simpler to give Anna status infliction boosting gear and Fat Fly or Chrome Earrings, then use Arrow Rain.
Unlike most foes in EBF5 and like other Turrets, the Giga Harpoon cannot be captured to be used as a summon.

Battle Logic[]
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
- If Syphoned, Berserked, or catch score >55 and all players are Lovable → Harpoon Hit (1/2), Swap Players (1/2);
- Otherwise → Harpoon Hit (1/4), Swap Players (1/4);
- If for any active player
[sum of buffs - sum of debuffs] > 100%
, or for any foe[sum of debuffs - sum of buffs] > 100%
→ Recycle (1/8), Lock On (1/8);- If the target has at least a 10% Evade debuff → Electron Gun (1/4);
- Otherwise → Bind (1/8), Electron Gun (1/8);
- Otherwise → Lock On (1/6);
- If the target has at least a 10% Evade debuff → Electron Gun (1/3);
- Otherwise → Bind (1/6), Electron Gun (1/6).
- If for any active player
* Recycle always targets the best reverse target, ignoring Lovable and Target.
* Lock On will retarget to a different foe if their originally selected target has at least a 10% Accuracy buff (unless no other targets are available).
Unlike most other foes, the Giga Harpoon doesn't get a counter when Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled.
