The Godly Book is a Holy-elemental cat toy available for NoLegs in Epic Battle Fantasy 5.

Description

The Godly Book is a small black book with a white cross on the front cover - judging by the name and item description, it contains scriptures related to the worship of Godcat (the Book of Catus). Its associated weapon is a brown wooden cross with a X-eyed doll in NoLegs's likeness crucified onto it by its head and body. If the Coat of Teeth or Officer's Coat is also equipped, the doll is replaced by a living spider; if the Mature filter is toggled off, the cross has nothing nailed onto it.

Normal

The Godly Book gives a below-average boost to Attack, a slightly above-average boost to Magic Attack, and a moderate boost to Magic Defence. It is designed to actively exploit the synergy between Curse and Holy attacks (which it empowers), with Weapon-elemental skills being able to apply Curse from the weapon itself and its Talisman Seal bonus skill. It also has a high chance to give NoLegs Auto-Revive, which can compensate for the cat toy's relative lack of defensive assets.

Despite being able to boost its own damage, the Godly Book itself is not a particularly powerful weapon; the King's Guard is a stronger Cat Toy in all respects (including resistances), but comes with an Evade penalty that NoLegs does not appreciate. Additionally, its main niche faces competition from Natalie's Celtic Cross, which has better synergy with her stats than the Godly Book has with NoLegs.

The Godly Book resists Holy, Dark, Syphon and Disable. The latter two become an immunity at Level 5.

Equip Remix

The Alt Godly Book is an atypical piece of defensive gear that stands out in the healing department. It has a pitiful boost to Magic Attack and no Attack boost whatsoever, but compensates with impressive Defence, Magic Defence and HP boosts. It casts Purify between turns and can freely Curse targets with its weapon-elemental skills, but its most interesting trait is its counter skill: Heal More, of all things. While this is probably the last thing you'd expect a weapon to counter with, it allows NoLegs to proactively heal himself and his allies immediately after taking damage; this benefits from the cat toy's healing boost, allowing NoLegs to restore a good amount of HP despite its terrible Magic Attack.

While limited by its wielder's inherent frailty (and pairing amazingly with sources of Morale), the Alt Godly Book allows NoLegs to take a multi-target attack and immediately heal the party, which can be very useful to help them survive the next attack or to free up another character to buff or attack instead of healing. Its auto-skill is especially useful alongside the likes of the Alt Elder's Wisdom or the Alt Spine Snapper; combined with its healing counter, NoLegs can greatly alleviate the party's efforts to maintain their health and ward off negative status effects. Since its healing utility is tied to its automatic skills, NoLegs can provide further support on his actual turn, such as by applying Curse.

Due to its counter encouraging NoLegs to tank hits instead of dodging them, the Alt Godly Book works surprisingly well with defensive gear that lowers Evade, such as the Alt Heroic Armor, the Alt Santa Outfit, the Alt Pumpkin Head, or the Alt Space Helmet. It also has great synergy with the Alt Shell Armor (great bulk and a healing boost) and the Alt Priest's Tunic (Food and buff boosts, plus additional healing from its auto-summon).

The Alt Godly Book resists Holy, Dark, Tired and Weaken; becoming immune to the latter two at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

The Godly Book is found inside a chest in the Glitch Area of the Frozen Valley; the chest is guarded by a battle that appears as an Earth Dragon.
