The Haunted Tree is a type of foe in the Epic Battle Fantasy series. They appear in forest areas like Vegetable Forest or graveyards like Graybone Cemetery.

Appearance

It appears as a gnarled old tree with holes forming narrow eyes and a large, jagged mouth. A few leaves and mushrooms grow from its branches (though the mushrooms are not present in EBF4).

Overview

EBF

Being a plant, the Haunted Tree specializes in using Poison/Bio attacks, such as spitting spores and impaling the players with vines, that have the potential to inflict Poison, among other effects. On its own, a Haunted Tree is a relatively minor threat due to it having several elemental weaknesses but not many immunities or resistances.

Adventure Story

Haunted Trees also appear as enemies in Adventure Story, featured in the game's first two worlds. They are stationary and attack by spitting clouds of little poison bubbles - an attack they also use in the EBF series - at Matt when they notice him.
