The Holly Hairpin is a seasonal female hat found in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. Its armor counterpart is the Santa Skirt.
Description[]
The Holly Hairpin is a small grey-brown twig plucked from a holly bush. It has three small red berries at its center, surrounded by three jagged green leaves; however, only two leaves are visible when it is worn. It also makes the wearer style part of her hair into ringlets.
Normal[]
The Holly Hairpin gives above-average boosts to Defence and Magic Defence, along with smaller bonuses to Attack and Magic Attack. Its main asset is boosting the power of healing and buffing items; while it can randomly cast Candy Canes between turns, the skill is weak enough to be relatively insignificant.
The Holly Hairpin resists Holy, Chill, Freeze, and Dispel. All of these except for Holy become an immunity at Level 5.
Equip Remix[]
The Alt Holly Hairpin has below-average Defence and Magic Defence, as well as a minor HP penalty; however, between a good Attack boost and the ability to buff it further on Defend, it's a solid asset for an all-out physical attacker build. It also casts Candy Canes between turns, dealing non-elemental damage to a random foe; it's not very strong, but it activates fairly frequently and applies some extra damage.
The Alt Holly Hairpin resists Holy, Curse, Bad Luck, Tired, and Weaken. It becomes immune to all but the first at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]
The Holly Hairpin can be bought for 300 gold in any equipment shop, e.g. Hope Harbor, Greenwood Village or Redpine Town. It is a seasonal item and only available during the Christmas season (December 1-January 7).

Trivia[]
- While both the Santa Skirt and the Holly Hairpin's descriptions say they randomly summon "Candy Canes" in EBF5, they actually summon two slightly different spells (with different animations). The Holly Hairpin's version of Candy Canes is weaker and hits less times than the Santa Skirt version.
