The Ice Bit, also called Golem's Balls (Ice) in Epic Battle Fantasy 2, is a recurring foe in Epic Battle Fantasy series. It appears primarily in cold areas, such as Glacier Valley of Epic Battle Fantasy 3 and Crystal Caverns of Epic Battle Fantasy 4. It is a member of the Bit enemy class.

Appearance[]

The Ice is a levitating rock with clusters of blue crystals, possibly made of ice, spread across its body.

Overview[]

Ice Bit is a simple foe whose main purpose is to act as a brief, painful obstruction for less careful players: it has only one or two attacks and deals little damage, but can inflict Freeze with a somewhat high chance for a foe encountered early to mid-game. Its elemental resistances vary between games, sometimes changing to the polar opposite; while it does resist some elements, it also has universal Fire and Bomb weaknesses, and, due to pitifully low health, should die to any attack it doesn't resist.

Interestingly, it became easier with every game: in Epic Battle Fantasy 2, status resistances and Accuracy boosts are harder to come by than in EBF3 (though the Freeze chance is much lower on all difficulties but Epic), and in EBF4 Ice Bit no longer has above-average Evade, can be temporarily shut down by Syphon and can only use a Freezing attack once in its lifetime, as it is now a suicide attack.

Like other Bits, Ice Bit is a common boss helper, appearing in fights with Giga Golem (EBF2), Tundra Mammoth (EBF3), Crystal Golem and Diamond Golem (EBF4). Due to this, simply slapping Regen on the party may be not enough to counter Ice Bit's only strong point, as that still leaves Freeze active for the rest of enemy turn and the boss can immediately take advantage of it.

Before the EBF Collection update, the in-game Bestiary incorrectly stated the Golem's Balls (Ice) was weak to Holy, and didn't mention its Dark weakness.
