Iron tusk 5

The Iron Tusk is a Bomb-elemental bow available for Anna in Epic Battle Fantasy 5.

Description[]

The Iron Tusk is a large, slightly curved mass of dark grey stone covered with several strips of sharpened metal, giving it a vaguely makeshift feel. Its name presumably comes from the two large pieces of metal at the center of the bow, which resemble tusks. A smaller point of metal sticks out near the end of each limb.

The Iron Tusk's arrows consist of a large, sharp arrowhead with small projections near its base, a shaft made from a polished version of the material the frame is made of, and a large steel ball for its fletching. Apparently, the arrows are miniature wrecking balls.

Normal[]

Although they have significant differences otherwise, the Iron Tusk fills a similar niche as the Iron Tooth did in EBF4; an all-out offensive bow with some defensive assets. It boasts top-of-the-line Attack and a little Defence and Magic Defence; on the other hand, it has zero Magic Attack and small Accuracy and Evade penalties. Its weapon-elemental skills have a great chance to Stagger foes and a decent chance to unleash Energy Bomb, but the latter is a mixed bag; while it benefits from the bow's Bomb boost, it's still not especially powerful (due to being magic-based instead of physical) and uses up any Stagger Anna may have inflicted with the base skill. Additionally, it can counter attacks with Bow Whack; while this will never kill the target and doesn't apply enough Stagger to last through the turn, it can make them easier to capture or scare them into Surrender.

The Iron Tusk is one of Anna's most powerful bows for physical offense, alongside The Stinger. Both have massive Attack and synergistic elemental boosts; the Iron Tusk's main advantages are no status weaknesses, slightly better bulk, and greater ease applying its on-hit status (via its counter and a higher infliction chance for Arrow Rain). It pairs well with the Mecha Suit or the Camo Skirt for an additional Bomb boost; the former is better for bulk and the latter is better for all-out offense.

The Iron Tusk resists Thunder, Bomb, Stagger and Confuse, with the latter two becoming an immunity at Level 5.

Equip Remix[]

With good Attack and Magic Attack, a minor HP boost, and significant drops to Accuracy and Evade, the Alt Iron Tusk makes Anna as powerful (and ponderous) as the turret of a tank. Its abilities only strengthen the comparison; it boosts non-elemental and Bomb skills, inflicts Stagger with weapon-elemental skills, buffs Anna's HP when she Defends herself, and rarely summons a War Mammoth to buff the party's Defence before raining explosive destruction upon the entire enemy wave.

The Alt Iron Tusk is Anna's only option for a Bomb-boosting bow, and it will prove much more powerful and consistent than the Alt Juggernaut despite the latter's array of automatic Bomb skills. It also surpasses the Alt Juggernaut when it comes to inflicting Stagger; in turn, it's outclassed by the Alt Thor's Hammer (which has a status boost to further amplify its on-hit Stagger). If Bomb damage isn't particularly necessary, the Alt Fairy Bow and Alt Angel Wing have greater physical power while retaining elemental synergy with Anna's natural skills; the Alt Fenrir's Jaw is even more powerful, but also has severe defensive penalties.

The Alt Iron Tusk resists Thunder, Stagger and Confuse, becoming immune to all of them at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]

The Iron Tusk is found inside a chest at the end of the Freezeflame Dungeon after defeating Sól and Skadi.
