The Mad Cactus is a foe in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and Adventure Story, also available as a summon in the former. It appears primarily in desert areas, such as in Goldenbrick Resort (in EBF4).
Appearance
The Mad Cactus is a semi-sentient plant similar to the Evil Mushroom and Haunted Tree. It appears as a small green cactus with two "arms" and a pink flower on top. Holes in its front create a simple face consisting of two eyes and a mouth; the eyes are slightly mismatched, and the mouth has small protrusions resembling teeth.
Overview
Much like its fellow Evil Plants, the Mad Cactus is a low to moderate threat that mainly exists to hamper players while they try to deal with more dangerous foes. It uses Bio attacks with varying elemental degrees; they aren't very strong, but some of them can Stun and Poison their targets.
The Mad Cactus can be largely neutralized as a threat by inflicting Syphon or Berserk upon it; either status restricts it to its basic Emerge attack, which has no special effects. Fire, Ice, Earth, and Wind attacks will kill it quickly, but pretty much anything else will work outside of Water, which it absorbs. Its defensive issues are further compounded by its low Evade and mediocre HP.
"More Foe Resistance" allows the Mad Cactus to absorb Earth, Bio, and Dark while making it immune to Curse, Doom, and Instant Death.

Attacks and Abilities
Battle Logic
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
- Berserked or/and Syphoned → Emerge;
- Otherwise → Emerge (1/3), Pink Spores (1/3), Cacti (1/3).
Summon
The Mad Cactus summon is given to the player after completing a quest for Cactussa, a cactus-loving girl found in the northern part of the Greenwood Village. When used, a Mad Cactus will cast Cacti on a single foe, dealing three hits of mostly Bio-based physical damage with slightly increased Accuracy and a high chance to Stun the target.
