Matt's Hidden Cats is an upcoming puzzle game created by Matt Roszak.
Much like Cat Cafe, this game is a stand-alone spin-off game mostly unrelated to the Epic Battle Fantasy series. The only thing close to the main series is the appearance of cats and dogs, but apart from the notable aesthetic change of the cats having visible limbs, they're still drawn by the same artist.
On December 9th, 2023, the public alpha was released for free on Roszak's Patreon. It contains 6 levels.
The game will be released on PC and Mobile.

Gameplay[]

Options user interface (Placeholder, may be changed in final version).
In Matt's Hidden Cats, the player has to find a set number of different items on each map (depending on the difficulty). Everything in the environment within the map can be interacted with, which is helpful as there are some items that can be originally hidden and would require further actions to uncover them. Hints are there if it gets tricky.
There are 80 levels that are expected to be in the game, with the upcoming demo having around 20 levels when released.
One of the unlockable features is the ability to have your GUI customized to match your current level.
Trivia[]
- The main art style of this game was inspired by Hidden Through Time. Matt Roszak believed that the art style would be replicable with Flash (and wanted to experiment on something different), so he made some concept art. After getting a positive reception, more concept art were released and the new game has since gone under development.
- On August 7th, the name was considered to be extended from Hidden Cats to Hidden Cats & Dogs. The Steam page (which was published on September 30th) later confirmed the name change.
- At one point, the full title was Epic Battle Fantasy: Hidden Cats before that was shortened.
- This makes it the only EBF game with more than one name changes.
- The name was changed again in 2024 from Hidden Cats & Dogs to Matt's Hidden Cats on the 21st of March.
- On October 9th, it was confirmed by Matt that their were currently 2,500 wishlists on Steam.
