The Mud Slime is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is mostly found in the Mystic Woods, although it starts appearing around the Wild Tropics and the eastern side of Hope Harbor in a "Foe Remix" Custom Game.

Appearance[]

The Mud Slime is a small blob of light brown mud with beady green eyes and a ":3" expression. Unlike most Slimes, it tends to have a small set of protrusions of mud at the top of its body, looking like a sort of a tuft. Bits of vegetation grow from the top of its head; if its bestiary entry is any indication, they may actually be sustained by nutrients within the Mud Slime's body.

The Mud Slime's variations include:

  1. Two reeds and a lily pad.
  2. One reed and four lily pads.
  3. A single Rafflesia-like leaf laid along their head.

Overview[]

Mud Slimes are simple, low-tier foes. They have a few attacks, all of which deal a pathetic amount of single-target physical Bio damage. Their only notable abilities are Leaf Volley, which hits twice, and Spit, which has a small chance to Confuse the target.

Although Mud Slimes absorb both Bio and Water, pretty much any other form of damage will wipe them out with little difficulty, especially given their low Evade. To ensure their demise, they should be struck with Fire, Dark, Bomb and especially Ice attacks. They also have no status resistances and a massive weakness to Doom and Death, providing yet another means to swiftly remove them from a battle.

With "More Foe Resistance" enabled, the Mud Slime becomes immune to Earth and Wind, neutral to Dark and Bomb, and less vulnerable to Ice.

Battle Logic[]

The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.

Action

  • If catch score >55 and all players are Lovable → Surrender;
  • If Berserked → Jump & Back;
  • If Syphoned → Jump & Dissolve;
  • Otherwise → Jump & Back (1/5), Jump & Dissolve (1/5), Spit (1/5), Leaf Volley (2/5).

Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)

  • 100% and not Syphoned → Leaf Volley.

Additionally, if any front line player has equipment that scares Slimes, the Mud Slime will immediately Surrender and Flee on their turn.

Summon[]

The Mud Slime can be captured and used as a summon. It uses its Leaf Volley on a single foe, dealing weak physical Bio damage.
