The NoLegs Doll is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It usually appears in haunted areas like the Mystic Woods, Redpine Town and The Rapture, often alongside other Dolls.
Appearance[]
The NoLegs Doll is a pale blue voodoo doll meant to be a crude caricature of NoLegs. It has black button eyes secured with brown thread, as well as a small, smiling mouth with two asymmetrical white "fangs". It wears a brown cloth around its neck, and stitches can be seen on top of its head and on the side of its body. Despite its name and inspiration, it does have legs (which its Bestiary entry points out); however, its arms appear to have been ripped off of its body, leaving puffs of white stuffing where they used to be.
Overview[]
Like other Dolls, hitting this foe will result in the corresponding player taking damage equal to a % of their max HP proportional to how much of the Doll's max HP was lost to the attack (this takes into account overkill damage), even if they are in backup; Instant Death will also trigger this effect, as it's essentially an attack that deals damage equal to 100% of their HP. Healing the Doll will also in turn heal the corresponding player (this only happens if the Doll isn't at full HP). Damage/healing isn't affected by Invisible/Enchanted, but will be halved by Defend (except when Doom kills the Doll). This passive ability can be blocked by Syphoning the foe. Using Morale and Auto-Revive to survive the reflected damage is also an option.
The NoLegs Doll has access to a variety of elemental attacks based on NoLegs's skills; however, instead of single-target physical slashes that hit multiple times, it uses area-of-effect magic attacks which only hit once. It also has below-average defenses and high Evade, so hitting it can be tricky, but it'll take a lot of damage from whatever does land.
The NoLegs Doll can inflict Dark, Wind, and Water damage, with each spell having a different status effect (Curse, Weaken, and Bad Luck, respectively). While the infliction chances are rather low, they can slowly cripple the party or increase the NoLegs Doll's damage output if left unchecked. It can also apply Berserk and Lovable to other foes, interfering with the player's normal tactics; it will always target the least-damaged foe with Berserk and the most-damaged foe with Cherish, ensuring that they can get the maximum benefit from the statuses. Combined with its Sympathy ability, it has the potential to be quite dangerous, but it has the same weakness as the rest of the Dolls: if inflicted with Syphon, it can only use a non-elemental physical attack that does minimal damage. On higher difficulty levels, it'll try to compensate for this by inflicting Berserk on itself, but it still doesn't hit very hard.
The NoLegs Doll absorbs Dark, but is weak to Fire and especially Holy. If Syphon effects are unavailable, it may be safer to kill a low-health NoLegs Doll with a neutral attack so as to avoid accidentally killing NoLegs. With "More Foe Resistance" enabled, it becomes extremely weak to Bio and Water while retaining its Dark absorption and becoming immune to all other elements; it also becomes fairly resistant to Syphon.

Battle Logic[]
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If Syphoned, catch score >55, and all players are Lovable → Flee
- If Syphoned → Head Bash;
- If Berserked → Shadow Strike (1/3), Wispy Strike (1/3), Bubbly Strike (1/3);
- Otherwise → Shadow Strike (2/12), Wispy Strike (2/12), Bubbly Strike (2/12), Cherish (3/12), Berserk (3/12).
* Cherish will always target the most damaged foe, while Berserk will always target the least damaged foe. That said, both spells will retarget to a different foe if their originally selected target already has Lovable/Berserk respectively (unless no other targets are available).
Additionally, on Hard or Epic difficulties, if the NoLegs Doll is Syphoned at the start of its turn, it'll automatically inflict 1x Berserk on itself (this doesn't take up their action).
Summon[]
The NoLegs Doll can be captured and used as a summon. When called upon, it meows at the entire enemy wave, greatly reducing their Evade and inflicting a few stacks of Bad Luck.
The NoLegs Doll summon pairs well with the Fat Fly and other sources of Doom by turning the status into Instant Death while also making it harder for foes to dodge the relevant attacks. It's also an effective asset for capturing attempts; not only does it greatly boost the foes' catch rates on its own, the Bad Luck it inflicts can facilitate further status infliction. However, the Putrid Worm summon is cheaper and can be more effective against single targets due to its stronger Evade debuff, especially if the party has other means of applying Bad Luck (such as Firecrackers).
