Tank right before the explosion
Oblivion is a Limit Break available for Lance since Epic Battle Fantasy 3.
Description[]
Upon casting, Lance jumps high into the air to drop on his opponents with his Valkyrie Tank (Neon Valkyrie in EBF5). As the tank crushes the enemies, Lance draws his gun and fires three shots below him, damaging foes further and blowing up the tank for one final massive hit, raining ammunition and tank parts across the battlefield.
Although Oblivion is a strong offensive Limit Break, its usefulness in Epic Battle Fantasy 3 and 4 is hampered by Lance's general preference for magic over physical damage. This changes in Epic Battle Fantasy 5, where Lance's physical prowess is greatly improved; Oblivion itself also gains a high Stagger chance to potentially set up further assaults from the party.
Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]
Oblivion is unique among skills for its ability to inflict multiple types of elemental damage in succession; the tank smash deals mostly Earth-based damage, the gunfire deals non-elemental damage, and the final explosion is purely Bomb-based. The last hit also has a slightly increased chance to score a critical hit.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
Oblivion is Lance's default Limit Break, available at Level 1 as soon as he joins the party outside the Crystal Caverns. It now inflicts Bomb damage with all five hits, although the elemental degree is only 75% on each blow. None of its hits have a boosted critical chance, but its base power and Accuracy are higher than those of its EBF3 version.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]
-
"I've got a whole assembly line producing these tanks! Self destructing a few of them is no problem at all!"
- ―Lance, after using Oblivion, Epic Battle Fantasy 5
Lance joins the party with Oblivion already at Level 2. It is similar to its EBF4 incarnation, but with another small power boost and its elemental degree increased to 100%; additionally, the final explosion hits four times instead of once. It also inflicts two stacks of Stagger on its victims.

Trivia[]
- Oblivion is based on a famous scene from the manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure; specifically, the climax of the battle between Jotaro Kujo and DIO in Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. The main differences are that DIO used a steamroller instead of a tank, followed up with a flurry of punches instead of gunshots, and the vehicle didn't explode at the end (although it does explode in certain adaptations).
- As a further reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Lance yells "WRYYYYYY!" (DIO's famous vampire screech) when he casts Oblivion for the first time.
- Oblivion's attack animation appears to be inspired by the Valkyrie Tank's destruction at the end of Epic Battle Fantasy 2, particularly when the tank explodes and its parts rain down on the battlefield.
- Oblivion's EBF3 iteration is the only skill in the EBF series to inflict multiple types of elemental damage at once.
- Oblivion shares its name with two levels from spin-off games: the fourth bonus level in Bullet Heaven, and the final story level in Adventure Story.
