Matt & Lance with the Officer's Coat in EBF4.
The Officer's Coat, previously known as Officer Coat, is a male armor available in Epic Battle Fantasy 3, 4 and 5. Its hat counterpart is the Officer's Hat. It resembles a SS Nazi uniform, like the one Lance is first seen worn in Epic Battle Fantasy 2.
Description[]
The Officer's Coat is a black longcoat with light grey trim and cuffs. It comes with plain black pants, red shoes, and a yellow dress shirt with a thin black tie (the latter two are barely visible around the open collar of the jacket). It also has visible cufflinks and a single silver plate on the right shoulder. Two black belts are wrapped around the wearer's waist, and a red-and-silver medal topped with an Iron Cross are positioned on the upper right portion of the coat.
In EBF5, the Officer's Coat was shortened to a regular jacket instead of a longcoat, with small pins/buttons on the shoulders, right-front edge, and near the lower hem. Its shoulder plate and cufflinks were removed, and its shoes are black instead of red. A gray "V" is visible on the upper-right sleeve, and the now-gold medal is positioned on the coat's left side rather than the right, and it has lost the Iron Cross on top. The belt has a prominent silver buckle with a circular design in the middle.
If the Officer's Coat is worn by NoLegs, a red band bearing the emblem of the Iron Fortress (a white X in a black circle) is wrapped around his tail.
In every appearance to date, the Officer's Coat possesses generally average stats, a resistance to Dark, and the ability to randomly cast a Bomb-based skill between turns. While balanced, it is usually outclassed by more specialized armors.
Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]
The Officer Coat provides average Magic Defence, slightly above-average Defence, and small boosts to Attack, Magic Attack, and Accuracy. It can cast Tank Cannon between turns; while decently powerful, it doesn't add much to the weapon as a whole.
Despite being one of the most balanced male armors in the game, the Officer Coat struggles to stand out among the competition beyond its elemental resistance, which is useful in the later areas of the game. Although it can add some free Bomb damage to the party's offence, the player is better off giving Lance the Red Jacket and spamming Airstrike.
The Officer Coat resists Dark. This does not become an immunity at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
The Officer's Coat has average boosts to Defence and Magic Defence, along with small bonuses to Attack and Magic Attack. It randomly fires Tank Guns between turns, which adds some generally insignificant Bomb damage to the mix.
The Officer's Coat is decent on its own merits, but there are better options for both offense and defense, whether the player is using Lance or not. In particular, the Dark Armor has identical offenses and Defence while providing much higher Magic Defence, a bit of Evade, and arguably superior resistances.
The Officer's Coat resists Dark and Curse, becoming immune to the latter at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]

Matt, Lance and NoLegs wearing the Officer's Coat in EBF5
Normal[]
The Officer's Coat slightly boosts Attack and Magic Attack, while offering average Defence and Magic Defence. It also empowers Dark skills and randomly casts Machine Guns between turns, although the damage on the latter is negligible for its trigger chance.
Although it has its assets, the Officer's Coat is ultimately outclassed by more specialized male armors. Lance generally prefers the Coat of Teeth, which offers more magic power and a useful debuff boost; Matt gets better mileage from the Viking Fur, which has identical defenses, superior Attack, and a more useful elemental boost; NoLegs can reliably utilize the Dark boost, but prefers armor that increases his Evade.
The Officer's Coat resists Fire, Dark and Thunder, but it won't be immune to any of them at Level 5.
Equip Remix[]
The Alt Officer's Coat has strong Attack and Magic Attack as well as average Magic Defence and Defence. It boosts Bomb skills and occasionally summons a War Mammoth between turns, allowing it to sometimes buff the party's Defence while dealing some magical Bomb damage to the entire enemy wave. While fairly solid, it faces competition from the Alt Captain's Coat, which sacrifices some defensive bulk for a second elemental boost.
The Alt Officer's Coat resists Bomb, Stagger, Confuse, Doom, and Death; all but the first become an immunity when it is fully forged.
Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]
The Officer Coat is found behind the gate in Volcano Peak, which requires 4 Crimson Orbs from the Kitten Kingdom Ruins to open.

Trivia[]
- While primarily associated with Lance, the Officer's Coat (and its associated hat) first appeared as an outfit for Matt in the Concept Art gallery of Epic Battle Fantasy.
