The Omega Dragon is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is sparsely scattered across the later areas of the map, with the first one appearing in the Frozen Valley. None of its encounters respawn aside from the ones in the Grand Gallery's All Medals Room and the Monster Marathon in the Temple of Trials.
Appearance[]
Like its golden counterpart from Epic Battle Fantasy 4, the Omega Dragon bears a great resemblance to the venerable Czars; it has the same tufts of hair and overall shape as its predecessors. The main differences are the removal of the small "horn" at the snout, the addition of a pair of "whiskers" resembling those seen on Chinese Long dragons, a shorter, forward-facing beard covering the front third of its lower jaw instead of the previous goatee and a dull, almost clay-like red hue on the scales.
Overview[]
As its name and bestiary entry suggest, the Omega Dragon is arguably the most dangerous Dragon species in EBF5. It can use spells of every element except for Dark and Bio (slightly favoring Fire and Holy), and its high Magic Attack gives them quite a bit of punch. Most of these spells can inflict status conditions ranging from irritating to extremely dangerous; fortunately, the latter effects have low infliction chances. On higher difficulty levels, its Burning Breath has a much higher Burn chance and its Fiery Megaflare upgrades to inflicting Scorch.
The Omega Dragon is intelligent enough to exploit the party's elemental weaknesses, using whichever spells they least resist. It can also bite players for non-elemental physical damage, or roar to buff the Magic Attack of all foes and debuff the Magic Defence of all players; while each buff is not extremely high (even on higher difficulty levels), the combination of the two will make the Omega Dragon and other magic-leaning foes capable of dealing significantly greater damage.
Fighting an Omega Dragon is less about building resistance to all of its attacks and more about deciding which of its spells are least dangerous to the party (and thus safest to let the foe spam against them). Consider the following when deciding which elements you want to game:
- Energy Barrage has a high critical hit chance, but no other effects.
- Fire Storm has a mild status and standard power, but shares an element with the more dangerous Burning Breath and Fiery Megaflare.
- Bubble Blast, Hurricane, and Gaia Blossom have annoying special effects, but they can be managed if kept under control. Bubble Blast's on-hit Wet can even help the party by weakening the Omega Dragon's Fire and Bomb attacks.
- Thunder Storm and Ice Storm are generally not preferred; they have comparatively low status chances, but said statuses can take their targets out of commission.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the Omega Dragon becomes increasingly likely to spam its two Megaflare attacks once it loses half of its HP, although it can still use its Roar and coverage spells. It'll do nothing but spam its Megaflares when Berserk, allowing the party to build their Fire and Holy resistances and pair them with Magic Defence buffs (which the Dragon can't debuff, because it can't Roar while Berserk).
Thankfully, the Omega Dragon has simple resistances; it is weak to Bio and especially Dark, but absorbs Holy and Fire. The party should hit it hard with Razor Leaf or Antimatter Flux, while debuffing its Magic Attack as needed. Its status resistances are also quite sparse (immunity to Stun, Freeze/Chill, Syphon, and Death), so inflicting Poison or Virus can help wear it down while Weaken, Tired, and Curse can cut its stats in half if maintained.
"More Foe Resistance" gives the Omega Dragon additional Ice and Thunder absorptions, makes it immune to Earth and Wind, and nullifies its Bio weakness. It also becomes slightly more resistant to non-HP stat debuffs, quite resistant to Dispel, and very resistant to Weaken, Tired, Bad Luck, and Curse.
The Omega Dragon is notable for being the only foe to drop Crispy Bacon, but farming it is not advisable, especially given its rarity and the one-off nature of most of its appearances.

Battle Logic[]
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If Berserked → Divine Megaflare (1/2), Fiery Megaflare (1/2);
- If catch score >55 and all players are Lovable;
- If a randomly selected player has less than a 15% Magic Defence debuff and a randomly selected foe has less than a 15% Magic Attack buff → Roar (1/4);
- If all active players resist Fire → Fire Breath1 (1/4), Magic* (2/4);
- Otherwise → Fire Breath2 (2/4), Magic* (1/4)
- Otherwise;
- If all active players resist Fire → Fire Breath1 (1/3), Magic* (2/3);
- Otherwise → Fire Breath2 (2/3), Magic* (1/3);
- If a randomly selected player has less than a 15% Magic Defence debuff and a randomly selected foe has less than a 15% Magic Attack buff → Roar (1/4);
- Otherwise;
- If a randomly selected player has less than a 15% Magic Defence debuff and a randomly selected foe has less than a 15% Magic Attack buff → Roar (1/4);
- If all active players resist Fire → Bite* (1/4), Magic* (2/4);
- Otherwise → Bite* (1/4), Fire Breath3 (1/4), Magic* (1/4);
- Otherwise;
- If all active players resist Fire → Bite* (1/3), Magic* (2/3);
- Otherwise → Bite* (1/3), Fire Breath3 (1/3), Magic* (1/3).
- If a randomly selected player has less than a 15% Magic Defence debuff and a randomly selected foe has less than a 15% Magic Attack buff → Roar (1/4);
* "Magic" chooses best elemental spell based on active party's elemental resistance between Energy Barrage, Bubble Blast, Hurricane, Gaia Blossom, Ice Storm, Thunder Storm and Fire Storm.
* Bite becomes Divine Megaflare when <49% HP; Fire Breath becomes either Divine Megaflare1, Divine Megaflare and Fiery Megaflare2 (with its use chance equally split between them), or Fiery Megaflare3 when <49% HP.
Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
- 33% → Bite.
Summon[]
The Omega Dragon can be captured and used as a summon; the Dragon Wings also have a very low chance to summon one between turns. It roars to debuff the Magic Attack of all foes before blasting them with a modified version of Divine Megaflare; the latter deals accurate magical Holy damage with a small chance to Stun the victims for two turns.
