The Origami Dragon is a foe and summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5 introduced in the v2 update. It can be found in the Greenwood Library.
Appearance[]
The Origami Dragon is a floating dragon head made entirely out of intricately folded paper. It is primarily white and pale grey, with red and gold accents. It has a black slit for its eye and three red horns with gold stripes on the base; one on its snout and two on the back of its head. It also boasts sharp paper teeth, and paper structures on the back of its head that appears to be more horns or spikes.
Overview[]
Despite being made of paper, the Origami Dragon is just as dangerous as its scalier brethren. It can deliver powerful non-elemental physical attacks or use a Wind spell that inflicts Dry on the party, making them more vulnerable to its magical fire breath. It can also cast Dispel and Syphon to further hinder the party's efforts to defend themselves against it and its allies.
While the Origami Dragon has great Evade and slightly above-average Accuracy, it also has relatively few elemental resistances (Earth immunity and Holy absorption) and several serious weaknesses: Water, Dark, Wind and Fire. Ironically enough, it's also incredibly vulnerable to Dry and Light (as well as Wet and Heavy by association), allowing the player to give it a taste of its own damage-combo medicine; conversely, it resists Bad Luck, Curse, Syphon, Tired, and Weaken, strongly resists Stun, and is completely immune to Chill, Freeze, Doom, and Instant Death. Additionally, it has a decent resistance to all stat debuffs except for HP.
If "More Foe Resistance" is enabled, the Origami Dragon has its Water and Wind weaknesses lessened, becomes immune to Bio, and gains resistances to Fire, Thunder, and Ice. It also becomes immune to Bad Luck, Curse, Poison, Virus, Tired, and Weaken.
The Origami Dragon has the highest chance among foes to drop Super Tape, as well as the best Satin drop rate of any non-boss foe.

Summon[]
The Origami Dragon can be captured and used as a summon; the Alt Buster Sword also has a small chance to summon it between turns. It roars to greatly buff the party's Evade before casting a powered-up Paper Blade, hitting every foe for decent non-elemental physical damage.

Trivia[]
- Despite being called a Dragon in-game, the Origami Dragon's sprite and animations resemble those of a Hydra; the game's files call it "HydraOrigami", its high Evade, Earth immunity, and appearance as a floating head are similar to a decapitated Hydra, and it has a similar combination of high-damage physical moves (including the Hydras' signature Triple Bite attack) and multi-target magic attacks with various debilitating status effects. On the other hand, it lacks the Hydras' ability to replace/revive others of its kind, even if multiple Origami Dragons are present in a wave.
- Perhaps as a nod to this ambiguity, the Origami Dragon's Bestiary entry puts it between the end of the Dragon family and the beginning of the Hydra family, implying that it can be considered a member of either family or even a bridge between the two. For the sake of simplicity, this wiki will consider it to be part of the Dragon family.
