The Pope Hat, also known as the Pope's Hat in EBF4, is a female headgear available in Epic Battle Fantasy 3, 4 and 5. Its armor counterpart is the Pope Dress.
Description[]
The Pope Hat is a tall white hat with a red and gold trim at the bottom. In EBF3 and 4, its bottom trim is a series of interlocked red and gold triangles, and it has a small golden button/ring in the center of the hat. In EBF5, its bottom trim is a pair of straight lines, and it has a large vertical strip of red along the center; the latter has thin gold lines running along the sides and a large golden cross emblazoned on the middle.
The Pope Hat is usually associated with strong Holy resistance and a massive Magic Defence bonus, letting Natalie or Anna weather powerful magical attacks. Unfortunately, it generally lacks any other stats and has limited special effects, making it very situational.
Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]
The Pope Hat provides fairly balanced boosts with strong Magic Defence, average Defence, and a bit of MP. This gives it some use in a defensive support build, allowing Natalie to take hits better (especially magical ones) while letting her cast magic more freely before needing a recharge.
The Pope Hat resists Holy and Dark, up to 50% at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
The Pope's Hat has incredible amounts of Magic Defence, but no other stat boosts or special effects. This makes it a rather underwhelming hat unless the player expects to face powerful foes that predominantly/exclusively use magic; however, its resistances can be useful against Godcat, who makes liberal use of both Holy and Dark.
The Pope's Hat provides resistances to Holy, Dark, and Weaken, with the latter becoming an immunity at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]

If Natalie or Anna needs massive magical protection above all else, the Pope Hat is the perfect hat. It has a tremendous Magic Defence boost to weather dangerous spells, but a lack of any other stats means that physical attacks could still be problematic and its wearer's offenses won't be any stronger. It also has the ability to scare ghost-type enemies, potentially making them Flee, Surrender or go Berserk.
One niche usage for the Pope Hat is for a Target tank build that uses the Ninja Skirt; its high Magic Defence can mitigate the downsides of becoming Invisible, allowing it to draw in varied enemy fire more safely.
The Pope Hat resists Holy, Water, Curse and Bad Luck. It becomes immune to the latter two at Level 5.
Equip Remix[]
The Alt Pope Hat offers balanced protection, with good defenses and a pinch of HP. It also has the ability to improve buff skills, further lending itself to a supporting role; this is its main advantage over the Alt Fur Hat, which is slightly bulkier due to its better HP and ability to buff the same. In contrast, the Alt Drill Bits trade the HP boost for high Attack and a powerful (if extremely unreliable) full-party offensive buff from their auto-summon.
The Alt Pope Hat is resistant to Fire, Thunder, and Holy, but it doesn't become immune to any of them at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]
The Pope Hat is found in the Kitten Kingdom Ruins, in a chest behind the left teepee at the entrance screen. The chest can be accessed by doubling back along the upper-right exit one screen to the east; the path is blocked by a battle that appears as a Gunslinger.
