Pulsar is a recurring spell in the Epic Battle Fantasy series.
Description[]
When cast, a large orb of magic appears over the targets; it is mostly black, with a white glow in the center, a red glow around the edge, a faint white ring around its middle, and a number of red, black, and white particle effects around it. The orb expands for a second before suddenly collapsing, dealing magical damage to all enemies.
Pulsar is normally Dark-based, but it was non-elemental in the original Epic Battle Fantasy. It gains additional effects in later games; it can debuff Magic Defence in EBF3, lower Magic Attack in EBF4, and inflict Heavy in EBF5.

Pulsar is part of Natalie's Black Magic skillset, serving as her main multi-target skill outside of summons. Unlike its later appearances, it is non-elemental.

Pulsar is now a pure Dark-elemental spell with above-average Accuracy. Before the EBF Collection update, its in-game description incorrectly stated the skill had 9200 power instead of 8800.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]
Like all skills in EBF3, Pulsar now has to be learned and upgraded with AP. It now has normal Accuracy, and gains a chance to lower the Magic Defence of all enemies when fully upgraded.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]
Pulsar is similar to its EBF3 appearance, but with a little less power and a little more Accuracy. It debuffs Magic Attack instead of Magic Defence now, being able to do so at any level; however, the infliction chance and debuff strength are lower than its EBF3 counterpart, even at Level 3. It also costs more AP to reach its final level.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]
Pulsar's on-hit effect was changed again; now, it can make the enemies Heavy. Its AP costs were reduced to their EBF3 levels, and its base power and status chance were increased to the highest they've been since the switch to a full RPG format; however, it also has a two-turn cooldown instead of an MP cost.
In an "Equip Remix" Custom Game, the Alt Shooting Star can cast Pulsar between turns.
Trivia[]
- Pulsar takes its name from a type of neutron star that can be formed after a supernova. However, its appearance and Dark affinity make it seem more like a type of localized black hole.
