The Red Jelly is a recurring foe in Epic Battle Fantasy series. It appears primarily in Rock Lake (in Epic Battle Fantasy 3) and Ashwood Forest (in Epic Battle Fantasy 4). It is a member of the Jelly enemy class.

Appearance[]

In EBF2 and EBF3, the Red Jelly has a pink bell with a strange, ponytail-shaped tendril emerging from the top.

In EBF4, the Red Jelly has been redesigned to be dark red and have a more spherical bell with a few curved "spines" protruding from the top. Its body is transparent, and a glowing orange core can be seen inside. The Battle Mountain update added a pair of small black eyes.

Overview[]

Red Jellies are mid-tier enemies that aren't much of a threat outside of some status effects they can apply with their attacks. Interestingly, their elemental affinity varies greatly between the games in which they appear

In EBF2, Red Jellies use Thunder and Poison attacks. They're able to inflict attack debuffs, Poison, and Stun; thankfully, the chance of them being able to Stun is very low. They resist Fire, Water, and Poison, but are weak to Thunder and Ice, thus they can be taken down easily with Iceberg, Thunderbolt, or Glacier.

In EBF3, Red Jellies now use Poison attacks exclusively and can only inflict the Poison status on your party members, thus making them less of a threat overall since they only use one element. Their resistances have been significantly altered, though; they now absorb Water and Poison, and resist Wind. However, they're still weak to Thunder, along with Fire and Ice, providing plenty of options for taking them down.

In EBF4, Red Jellies have been overhauled to use only Fire attacks. As such, all of their attacks have a chance to Burn your party members. They also absorb Fire now, and can Burn themselves to regain some health. Aside from this, they also absorb Water, are immune to Earth, and resist Bomb. Despite this, they can still be taken down fairly easily as they are now weak to Thunder, Ice, and Poison, making it easy to defeat them even in spite of how early they appear in the game. They can be dealt with using skills such as Nettle, Spark Arrow, or Frost Arrow.
