For the fire-based Slime from EBF5, see Lava Slime.
The Red Slime is a foe in Epic Battle Fantasy 3. It is mostly encountered around Volcano Peak.
Appearance[]
The Red Slime is a simple red blob with tiny black dot eyes and a mouth set in a triangular frown. Its variants include:
- A slime with chunks of black rock embedded in its body.
- A slime with chunks of brown rock embedded in its body. Some of the larger chunks protruding from its head have small drops of orange-glowing magma within them, resembling tiny volcanoes.
- A slime with two long femur bones embedded in its body, as well as the skull of an unknown horned creature on its head.
Overview[]
The Red Slime is a fairly weak foe with the basic jumping attacks of its brethren; both are partly Fire-based, and the stronger of the two has a good chance of inflicting a moderate Evade debuff. However, it has a startling attribute that makes it much more annoying to fight against; it takes zero damage from any magical attacks, including the Poison status. Matt is obviously the best choice to take care of it, but Lance can use skills like Double Shot or Tank to deal some damage. If Natalie has to fight a Red Slime, her best option is the Meow Meow skill (if it was taught to her); otherwise, she will have to use her Normal Attack, attacking items, or Doom/Instant Death with the Death Bringer staff.
While the Red Slime has several weaknesses, Holy is the only one that can be properly exploited outside of weapon-elemental attacks, due to the dearth of physical Water or Poison skills available to the party. On the other hand, it's immune to Earth and massively absorbs Fire.

The Red Slime is completely immune to any source of magical damage; any magical attack that hits it will deal 0 damage instead. However, that doesn't prevent status effects nor stat debuffs from being inflicted.
Prior to the 2016 update, Fire- and Poison-elemental attacks were an exception to the rule, independent of their element %. With these exceptions cut, the slime can no longer heal from its allies' area-of-effect Fire attacks, and cannot be damaged by the Poison status despite being weak to the element.
