The Rock Sprite is a foe in Adventure Story, Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and 5, and a summon in the latter. In Adventure Story, it is mainly found in the mountainous third world (Levels 11 to 14). In EBF4, it appears in numerous areas, primarily in Crystal Caverns, Lankyroot Jungle and lower levels of the Temple of Godcat. In EBF5, it is found in the Forgotten Ruins, among other places.
Appearance[]
The Rock Sprite is a humanoid chunk of brown rock that vaguely resembles a small child. It has short arms, narrow eyes, and craggy chunks of stone forming a "skirt" around its lower body, spikes on its back, and "hair" on its head.
In EBF4, Rock Sprites have blank white eyes. In EBF5, they have black eyes, small mouths and eyebrows, and a few small yellow gemstones (possibly Topaz, though they do not drop those) on their head; the most obvious one is the diamond on their forehead, but a few more can be seen peeking out amid the rock spikes on their head.

To do: Adventure Story description
Rock Sprites are mid-class foes which strictly use physical Earth attacks. Most of their attacks have moderately high power and one can inflict Stagger, but they are not much of a concern in most cases.
In EBF5 Rock Sprites get a new ability which causes them to potentially Stagger anyone on the field, player or foe. While this can let the player deal more damage on their next turn, it also makes foes potentially much more dangerous possibly leading to surprising defeats. Otherwise, EBF5 Rock Sprites are practically identical to their EBF4 counterparts.
From a resistance standpoint, Rock Sprites have several immunities but also numerous weaknesses. They are immune to both Wind and Thunder, and as the name suggests Rock Sprites absorb Earth. However they have a notable five different weaknesses, giving the player a painfully diverse assortment of methods to kill off a Rock Sprite. Poison is noteworthy as Rock Sprites are particularly weak to the Poison status and the Bio (Poison) element, meaning more passive players can simply use Poison Gas or a similar skill and wait for a bit. Their weaknesses are identical in all of their appearances.
Adventure Story[]
In Adventure Story, Rock Sprites move back and forth on whatever platform they're standing on, trying to hurt Matt on contact. Unlike the Ice Sprite, they don't spit icicles; instead, they periodically burrow underground and emerge elsewhere. This move lets them throw boulders in an arc towards Matt; the boulders can't be destroyed, so they should be avoided instead.
