Matt, Lance, and NoLegs wearing the Scottish Cap in Epic Battle Fantasy 5

The Scottish Cap is a male hat available in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. Its armor counterpart is the Scottish Kilt.

Description[]

The Scottish Cap is a Balmoral bonnet, a type of beret heavily associated with Scotland. It has a tartan pattern with a red pom-pom on top; like the Scottish Kilt, it is green when worn by Matt or NoLegs and red when worn by Lance.

Normal[]

The Scottish Cap gives average bonuses to both Defence and Magic Defence, and its special effects are based around granting its wearer the Bless status. It can do so between turns, but it's mainly useful for guaranteeing two stacks of Bless on Defend. This makes it very useful on a Target Tank build to prevent any negative statuses from disrupting the tank, especially since its status resistances also prevent Instant Death from affecting him (and thereby depleting two stacks of Bless at once). Dispel-resistant gear (such as the RAM Chip or The Tr*force) is also advised to protect the tank from the other status that can deplete Bless faster than usual.

The Scottish Cap resists Wind, Water, Death and Doom, becoming immune to the latter two at max level.

Equip Remix[]

The Alt Scottish Cap has great Attack, good Defence, and an increased likelihood of capturing foes, but its main benefit is the huge Attack buff it gives to its wearer when he Defends himself. Combined with its resistances (eventually full immunity) to Tired and Weaken, it's a decent option for a physical attacker build and Matt in particular.

The Alt Scottish Cap resists Wind, Water, Tired and Weaken. It becomes immune to the latter two at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]

The Scottish Cap is found inside a chest that drops after completing the second EBF1 simulation (Beholder) in the Data Bunker. Prior to the v2 update, it was found inside a chest in the Freezeflame Dungeon after defeating Sól and Skadi.

Trivia[]

  • The Scottish Cap's description directly references the hunters in the far left side of Glacier Valley in Epic Battle Fantasy 3, who wear the same style of clothing and hunt haggis.
