The Silver Blade is a Wind-elemental sword available for Matt in Epic Battle Fantasy 4.
Description[]
The Silver Blade is a simple, silver longsword. The cross-guard is a slightly segmented circle surrounded by eight small spikes and is attached to a long, thin hilt. A hole is present within the cross-guard, perhaps to emphasize its wind affinity. The blade itself has an angular shape and appears to be directly attached to an additional spike on the cross-guard.
The Silver Blade provides a moderate boost for Matt's Attack, a low boost to Magic Attack, and the highest Accuracy and Evade boosts of all EBF4 swords. Its weapon-elemental skills can debuff targets' Evade, and its ability to counter attacks with Swift Slash allows it to passively spread this debuff to all enemies at once. Unfortunately, the benefit of Evade debuffs are usually negligible unless the party is having significant trouble hitting the enemies to begin with, a situation that rarely occurs outside of Giant Enemies or foes with powerful Evade buffs or Accuracy debuffs. Its elemental boost is similarly situational; the only Wind skills Matt can learn are Power Metal, Airwave and Shockwave, shared skills that all run off of his mediocre Magic Attack.
The Silver Blade can be useful when it is first obtained, since there are several enemies that are weak to Wind in Ashwood Forest. It can even be useful in the later parts of the game, such as Lankyroot Jungle; however, there is not much incentive to use it over Matt's other default sword, the Heaven's Gate. Overall, the Silver Blade is underwhelming due to an impractical elemental boost and insignificant debuff.
The Silver Blade is resistant to Wind and Earth, with neither of them becoming an immunity at Level 5.

- The Silver Blade is one of the weapons that has appeared in the animation of the Ragnarok Limit Break since Epic Battle Fantasy 2.
- The Silver Blade makes a cameo appearance in Epic Battle Fantasy 3 as the weapon strapped to Matt's back when he equips the Casual Shirt. Perhaps as a nod to this, both it and the Casual Shirt are added to the player's inventory when Matt joins the party in EBF4, serving as his alternatives to Heaven's Gate and the Captain's Coat, respectively.
