The Skeleton Cat is an entity initially introduced in Epic Battle Fantasy 2 as a Minigame aesthetic, but becomes a fully encounterable foe and summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5 in the v2 update. Skeleton Cats are found in the Battle Arena, specifically NoLegs's solo challenge.
Appearance
The Skeleton Cat is the pale gray skeleton of a limbless cat. It wields a shield and a spear, and has red dots burning in its sockets for eyes.
The Skeleton Cat can have any combination of its two facial expressions and shield designs:
- A triangular frown and the Viking Buckler.
- An open-mouthed smile (exposing a single fang) and a shield similar to the one that comes with the Star Hammer, but with silver instead of gold.
Overview
The Skeleton Cat is a bit like the Cat Warrior, guarding itself with a shield (that gives it Defend, Morale, and a massive Accuracy buff) and using a single-target non-elemental attack that hits three times for decent damage. However, it also has an accurate backstab attack (similar to NoLegs's Normal Attack) that inflicts slightly Dark-based physical damage with a good chance of Bad Luck. Its deadliest skill is Bone Pillar, which has high power, accuracy, and critical rate on top of being able to inflict Weaken - fortunately, it can only use this if a Skeleton Cat (including itself) was killed or reduced to exactly 1 HP in the previous turn; after it is used, no Skeleton Cat can use it again until the conditions are met.
The best way to cripple a Skeleton Cat's tactics is to hit it with Syphon; it has no resistance to the status, which locks it into its basic Triple Hit attack. If it defends itself, Dispel is an option to remove its buffs and reduce the risk of provoking a Bone Pillar attack. It also lacks any Freeze resistance, which allows players to render it completely harmless with the right build. As with most Kitten infantry, the Skeleton Cat can lose its shield if it suffers a powerful attack; this halves its defenses and prevents it from using its Defend ability.
The Skeleton Cat absorbs Dark and is immune to Stun, Doom, and Instant Death while resisting Thunder, Wind, and Bio. Its weaknesses include Water, Fire, and especially Holy. When "More Foe Resistance" is active, its weaknesses are greatly lessened, its Bio resistance is increased to an absorption, and it gains a decent resistance to Accuracy and Evade debuffs.

Battle Logic
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If Syphoned → Triple Hit;
- If the user or another Skeleton Cat has been reduced to 1 HP, or another Skeleton Cat has been killed → Bone Pillar*;
- If it's Berserked, it lost its shield, or it used Defend last turn → Triple Hit (1/2), Backstab (1/2);
- Otherwise → Triple Hit (1/3),Backstab (1/3), Defend (1/3).
* If another Skeleton Cat uses Bone Pillar first, it becomes unusable for any Skeleton Cats until conditions are met again.
Additionally, when catch score >55 and all players are Lovable, the Skeleton Cat will inflict 2x Berserk on themselves at the start of their turn (this does not take up their action).
The Skeleton Cat has a 50% chance to target the most damaged player with its attacks.
Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
- 100% → Triple Hit.
Summon
The Skeleton Cat can be captured and used as a summon. When called upon, it uses a powered-up Backstab to hit a foe with decent physical Dark damage and a full nine stacks of Bad Luck.
