- "A rock hard spike, broken off from some huge monster."
- ―In-game description, Epic Battle Fantasy 4
The Bone Spike (also known as Solid Spike prior to EBF5) is a recurring crafting item in the Epic Battle Fantasy series, introduced in Epic Battle Fantasy 3. It is a pointed piece of animal bone used for forging equipment, mostly ones made of bone or featuring spike-like parts.
In EBF3, Solid Spikes can be bought in The Town for 3,500 gold once they've been obtained elsewhere, such as from foes or chests. 110 are needed for all of the relevant upgrades.
In EBF4, Solid Spikes can be purchased in the Misc Shops of Whitefall Town and Goldenbrick Resort for 3,500 gold. The player will need 148 to upgrade everything.
In EBF5, the Solid Spike was renamed the Bone Spike and had a slight visual update; it has a more yellow tint, with tiny specks near its base and a single, pronounced crack instead of several faint cracks. It is sold by the Material Shops of Greenwood Village, Mystic Woods, The Great Sea and Redpine Town for 4,500 gold; 125 are required to upgrade everything.
Drop Rate[]
Bone Spikes are typically dropped by foes with pronounced spikes or claws in their design. It is frequently dropped by the Wooly Mammoth, the Zombie Hydra, and the Sand Worm; the latter in particular has been guaranteed to drop a Bone Spike in all three of the relevant games.
