The Spider Bobble is a female hat found in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. Its armor counterpart is the Spider Gown.

Description

The Spider Bobble is a pair of hair clips resembling black spiders with orange-yellow gems in the center of their bodies. When equipped, Anna and Natalie style their hair into two large spiraling sidetails.

Normal

The Spider Bobble gives a good boost to Defence and Magic Defence, along with modest boosts to Attack and Magic Attack. It has a fair chance to cast Spider Swarm between turns, afflicting all foes with Bad Luck and a decent Evade debuff. It also makes enemies more likely to Surrender.

While not particularly useful for combat, the Spider Bobble is useful for capturing foes if purchased early in the game, due to its ability to maintain Bad Luck and lower Evade while boosting Surrender chances.

The Spider Bobble resists Dark, Curse, Bad Luck, Death, and Doom. All but the first become an immunity at Level 5.

Equip Remix

The Alt Spider Bobble boasts high offenses and a pinch of HP, but no defensive boosts. It has a respectable chance to summon GLOB between turns, which can Dispel a random foe's buffs before afflicting them with some useful statuses (and Shroud, but that's more annoying than truly problematic). Coupled with how early in the game it can be obtained (theoretically, it can be used as soon as Natalie joins the party), it is quite useful for offensive builds; while it can't match the raw power of the Alt Royal Crown, it also lacks any real downsides. Additionally, it's a good option for capturing foes; not only does it passively boost catch rate, the plethora of statuses inflicted by its auto-summon can greatly increase the victim's Capture Score.

The Alt Spider Bobble resists Bio, Stun, Death, and Doom, with all but Bio becoming an immunity at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

The Spider Bobble can be bought for 300 gold in any equipment shop, e.g. Hope Harbor, Greenwood Village or Redpine Town. It is a seasonal item and only available during the Halloween season (October 1-November 7).
