"Stunned! I can't move! (But I need to scratch my nose!)"
―Natalie stunned, Epic Battle Fantasy 5
Status Stun

Stun is a recurring negative status effect in the Epic Battle Fantasy series, introduced in Epic Battle Fantasy 2. It is associated with the Thunder element, and its icon is a yellow circle with a lightning bolt crossing it. It prevents the victim from taking a turn and dodging incoming attacks. Additional application of the status will increase the duration of the ailment, but won't affect anything else.

Epic Battle Fantasy 2[]

Stun is available to players through the following skills and equipment:

For players, Stun can be cured with:

  • Purify (Natalie's White Magic spell) — targets all players.
  • Antidote (consumable item).
  • Kyun (Natalie's Limit Break) — targets all players.
  • Waiting a number of turns.
  • Having the victim die (even with Auto-Revive).
  • Reaching a checkpoint.

Skill bonuses providing resistance against Stun:

  • Venomous for Matt — Grants immunity to Poison and Stun status effects.
  • Immunity for Natalie — Grants 50% chance to dodge any bad status effect or stat debuff, independent of their infliction chance.
  • Immunity x2 for Natalie — Grants actual immunity to all bad statuses and debuffs.

    • However, this skill cannot inflict Stun when initiated by equipment or cast by a foe.

  • Stunner (throwable item) — 120% chance, 2x length. Length is boosted to 4x when the user has Pilot Goggles (male hat) equipped.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]

Stats before the Battle Mountain update are listed in brackets.
  • Prior to the v2 update (but after the Battle Mountain update), Stun also increased Earth-elemental damage (and only the elemental part of it) taken by 50%, which consumed one turn of Stun per hit. Prior to the Battle Mountain update, this aspect was (accidentally) assigned to the Tired status effect instead of Stun, and didn't cost turns.
  • Allies affected by Stun can still be switched out for another character.

Stun is available to players through the following skills and equipment:

  • Plasma Cage (Premium only) — up to 120% chance and 2x length.
    • Prior to the Battle Mountain update, this skill would lose its status chance when maxed (at level 6).
  • Spark Arrow — up to 100% [55%] chance and 1x length.
  • Thunderbolt — up to 8.33% chance and 1x length, 3 hits.
  • Thunderstorm — up to 5% chance and 1x length, 5 hits, targets all foes.

  • Epoch (staff) may cast Slow Down — 80% chance, 2x length.
  • Tribolt (staff) — up to 40% chance and 1x length at base.
