The Thunder Bit is a foe that appears in Epic Battle Fantasy 4. It is mainly found in the Crystal Caverns along with other Bits; it also serves as a helper to the Crystal Golem and (following the Battle Mountain update) the Diamond Golem.
Appearance[]
The Thunder Bit is a levitating gray rock with shards of yellow crystals (presumably Topaz) sticking out of it. The largest shards are clustered near the back of the Bit, making it vaguely resemble a comet.
Overview[]
The Thunder Bit has two attacks, both of which deal moderate magical Thunder damage to a single target. It can stab a player to cast Thunder on them or sacrifice itself to cast Plasma Cage; the latter is slightly stronger, much more accurate, and has a high chance to Stun the victim for two turns.
Given the very high infliction chance of Plasma Cage, nothing less than total Stun immunity is recommended if you intend to take your chances with the Thunder Bit's kamikaze attack. Killing it isn't too difficult, but it can be hard to find time to do so in the Crystal/Diamond Golem fights; additionally, those bosses can easily replace it every turn. The best option is to inflict Syphon, which prevents the Thunder Bit from doing anything at all; it also prevents its associated boss from calling in new Bits to replace it as long as you keep it alive.
The Thunder Bit is extremely vulnerable to Ice, but Water and Bomb will also deal extra damage; the latter are useful for hitting it and its usual allies all at once. After the Battle Mountain update, it also became weak to Wind. On the other hand, it absorbs Thunder, resists Earth, and is immune to both Bio and Poison. Activating "More Foe Resistance" greatly reduces its Bomb weakness while making it resistant to Wind, Water, and Stagger.

Trivia[]
- The color and formation of the crystals on the Thunder Bit may be a reference to Goku's hairstyle as a Super Saiyan.
