- "I can use this old hockey stick as a weapon. I think that should be enough equipment for now."
- ―Matt in the first cutscene, Epic Battle Fantasy 5
The Ultra Pro 9000X is a non-elemental "sword" available for Matt in Epic Battle Fantasy 5.
Description[]
The Ultra Pro 9000X is a black ice hockey stick with some white and red details along its length. It has white tape wrapped around the end of the grip and the blade of the stick. It does not appear to be left-handed or right-handed.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]
Normal[]
The Ultra Pro 9000X has poor offensive stats, a decent Evade bonus, and the highest Accuracy among Matt's swords, which is somewhat useful for his battle against NoLegs. Its weapon-elemental skills can Chill foes, and it has a variety of unique Equipment Effects among swords: it can steal items with certain attacks, increase the chance of inflicting status effects, and improve the power of healing/buffing items.
While perfectly serviceable as Matt's starting weapon, the Ultra Pro 9000X is a poor fit for his main strengths and generally outclassed once other swords become available. However, it maintains a niche as a part of Matt's stealing build; when combined with the Hobo Clothes and the Fake Mustache, he can grab four items with every use of Steal Item. It also pairs well with The Reaper to eliminate single Death-resistant targets, as it compensates for the skill's poor Accuracy while augmenting its status chance.
The Ultra Pro 9000X resists Ice, Water, Freeze, and Chill. Only the latter two become an immunity at Level 5.
Equip Remix[]
The Alt Ultra Pro 9000X has mediocre offenses and boosts to both Ice and Non-elemental skills; it can also unleash Deep Freeze with single-target weapon-elemental skills and summon an Ice Sprite between turns to put the Blizzard weather into play. However, it is most notable for the best Accuracy and especially Evade among Swords; the latter is almost twice as high as the combined Evade boost of every other sword in Matt's arsenal.
The Alt Ultra Pro 9000X certainly has its share of assets, but it is usually outclassed in its potential roles. The Alt Dragon's Feather is a better support weapon, the Alt Sapphire Saint is a better source of Freeze combos, some of Matt's other swords are superior offensive tools, and NoLegs is a better Evade-based tank due to his superior base Evade and the overwhelming dodging capabilities of the Alt Honjo Masamune.
The Alt Ultra Pro 9000X resists Ice, Wind, and Water. None of these become an immunity at max level.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]
The Ultra Pro 9000X is the default weapon of Matt, equipped when the game begins in his House.
