"It's a healer! We can't let it live!"
―Matt, Epic Battle Fantasy 5

The White Clay, also known as Light Clay, is a foe that appears in Epic Battle Fantasy 3, 4 and 5. It is found primarily in caves and ancient areas, namely the Kitten Kingdom Ruins in EBF3, or the Crystal Caverns, Lost Ruins, and the Temple of Godcat in EBF4. In EBF5, it appears in the Data Bunker as one of the Classic foes.

Appearance[]

Like other Clays, the White Clay is a human-shaped statue; it is modeled after a priest in particular. It has white armor with gold and either blue (EBF3 & 5) or green (EBF4) markings. Instead of a face, it has a golden plate with a thin, cross-shaped sigil. It carries a staff with a pearly white orb set in its oddly-shaped head.

Overview[]

As the main support unit of the Clay family, the White Clay acts as a buffer and healer in battle. Most of its skills revolves around supporting its teammates, usually by healing their HP, greatly buffing their stats, or granting them Regen to heal them over time. White Clays generally resist Holy and Earth while being very weak to Dark.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]

The Light Clay has 2 offensive attacks; the rest are supportive skills that heal and/or buff themselves or their allies. Their basic attack doesn't deal much damage but comes with a high chance to Syphon the target for a turn, or can use Shine for decent Holy damage and a chance to heavily lower Accuracy. As for their healing, they have 4 different skills to choose from, 3 of them heal a single ally and buff either their Attack and Defence, Magic Attack and Magic Defence, or Evade and Accuracy, as well as one that simply heals everyone with no extra effects. If they're Berserked or Syphoned, they'll be locked to using their normal attack, useful if you don't want to focus them down immediately.

Light Clays absorb Holy and Earth, are immune to Fire, Thunder and Bio, but are incredibly weak to Dark, Water and Bomb. They have no resistance to debuffs and are only immune to being Poisoned.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]

The White Clay forgoes most of their role as a raw healer and instead turn into more of a supporter. They can do a simple attack that unleashes Shine, dealing moderate damage and having a small chance to Weaken for 4 turns, a standard 3-hit attack, or they can cast Syphon on everyone to inflict well, Syphon. Their other two skills are a 50% Attack and Magic Attack buff on an ally, or granting 5 turns of Regen to all allies.

White Clays absorb Holy and are immune to Thunder and Bio, but are very weak to Dark and Bomb, and less weak to Water and Earth. They are also immune to Poison and Weaken. Enabling "More Foe Resistance" turns their Earth weakness into an absorption and gives them 50% resistance to Instant Death.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]

The Light Clay returns in its Epic Battle Fantasy 3 incarnation, sporting the same moveset but uses its move differently, deciding to heal much more frequently. Their normal attack is as weak as ever, now having a slight Holy element attached to it instead of being able to Syphon, its stat boosts work the same (not even overwriting buffs), one for Attack and Defense, one for Magic Attack and Magic Defense, and one for Evade and Accuracy. Their Megalixir now grants 3 turns of Regen to patch up damage over time, and all their healing spells are more random in how much they heal by. When near death, White Clays will cease attacking and instead use nothing except their healing skills. Syphoning or Berserking the White Clay will force them into using their normal attack.

Light Clays absorb Holy and Earth, are immune to Thunder and Bio, are weak to Bomb and Water, and are severely weak to Dark. They resist a lot of statuses, Burn, Scorch, Chill, Freeze, Wet, Dry, Light, Heavy, Poison, Virus, Bad Luck, Curse, Stagger, Weaken and Tired. They also resist all non-HP debuffs and due to them being a classic foe, are immune to Invisible and Enchanted. The "More Foe Resistance" challenge reduces their Bomb weakness, turns their Water weakness into a resistance, and gives them resistance to Stun, Doom and Instant Death.
