The Yellow Flybot is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is first encountered in No Man's Land and is common in the Iron Fortress, but it also appears in several other locations later in the game.
Appearance[]
The Yellow Flybot has the standard Flybot frame; a round body with two "arms" on the sides and a top-mounted propeller to keep it aloft. It is mostly made of brown metal decorated with angular yellow lines and symbols; the latter match the color of the single lens serving as its eye. Its arms are cylindrical and tipped with plug-like prongs; their midsections are made of glass, exposing the yellow electricity crackling within.
Overview[]
The Yellow Flybot uses a variety of Thunder attacks; they aren't very strong, but they can inflict annoying status effects. It can fire plasma balls at two random players; this has a chance to Confuse them, but it's very low. The same cannot be said of the Stun inflicted by Plasma Cage; it has a 50% infliction chance, and it's very accurate to boot. On the defensive side of things, the Yellow Flybot can buff the Magic Defence of itself and its allies, or cast Recycle to invert someone's buffs and debuffs.
Higher difficulty levels make the Yellow Flybot's buff more powerful and give its basic Plug Shock attack a very small Stun chance, but Plasma Cage remains the biggest concern. Its infliction chance is doubled to guarantee a Stun on non-resistant targets; to make matters worse, the Stun itself lasts twice as long.
Like all Flybots, the Yellow Flybot is only threatening if paired with stronger foes; in that case, it should be destroyed quickly before its support skills can be put to use. It's smart enough to know the best target for Recycle, allowing it to cause the most damage to the party's chances with each use; amusingly, the v1 version would occasionally try to use its other attacks with the same logic, causing it to attack itself or its allies by mistake. In any case, Syphon renders it all but helpless, and it's not too hard to kill outright; its Evade is barely above average, and it doesn't have too many resistances of note.
The Yellow Flybot's worst weakness is Water, which Matt, NoLegs, and Anna can easily exploit with their natural skills; their physical inclinations mean that they aren't even affected if it tries to buff itself. Its Bomb weakness isn't as severe (and not present at all in "More Foe Resistance"), but it may be easier to exploit if it appears alongside Water-absorbing foes like the Blue Flybot or the Bubbler MX-01. Later in the game, Bubble Ring hits its Water weakness and has a high chance to Syphon it in the process.

Battle Logic[]
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If Syphoned, catch score >55, and all players are Lovable → Surrender;
- If catch score >55 and all players are Lovable → Recycle;
- If Syphoned → Plug Shock;
- If Berserked → Plug Shock (1/2), Plasma Ball (1/2);
- If two randomly selected foes both have less than a 15% Magic Defence buff → Buff (15/100);
- If for any active player
[sum of buffs - sum of debuffs] > 100%
, or for any foe[sum of debuffs - sum of buffs] > 100%
→ Recycle (17/100);- If the selected target isn't Stunned → Plasma Cage (17/125), Plug Shock (34/125), Plasma Ball (34/125);
- Otherwise → Plug Shock (34/100), Plasma Ball (34/100);

* Recycle always targets the best reverse target, ignoring Lovable and Target (except when catch score >55 and all players are Lovable, where it has a 20% chance of choosing the best reverse target and otherwise targets randomly).
Before the v2 update, due to an oversight, the Yellow Flybot could use Recycle's targeting AI to select a target only to switch to a different attack afterwards, leading to situations where it would attack its own allies or itself with its Plug Shock, Plasma Ball and Plasma Cage attacks.
Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
- 33%;
- If Syphoned → Plug Shock;
- Otherwise → Plasma Ball.
Summon[]
The Yellow Flybot can be captured and used as a summon. It uses Recycle on all foes, inverting their buffs and debuffs. While generally inferior to the Red Flybot (due to its ability to target a specific foe or player), the Yellow Flybot can be useful against a whole wave of foes with dangerous buffs.

Trivia[]
- The interlocking triangle markings on the back of the Yellow Flybot resemble the markings on the head of the Golden Axe.
